A Bench at the Beach?

“If you’re not bringing anything to the table, give up your seat, please!”

A Bench at the Beach?

Looking, for my very favourite spot
The one, I prefer for my rare and deserved break times
Yet, buried, under so much snow it seems
The workings, of some wintry plot!

But, the snow aside,
Since, I really don’t mind
And, now, sitting down for a few
Totally, enjoying the silent view
Before once again, the evening‘s
Most glorious sun, sets

Shady side of me

“I prefer the darkness, but I love the light” Gun Roswell

Shady side of me

Sometimes the brightness gets too much
My skin aching from a ray of lights touch
Running for a cover, anywhere to stay, to simply, get away
Finally, finding, my preferred place, in the darkened, cooling, shade

Halos on discount

“It’s not always a sign of a saint” Gun Roswell

Halos on discount

I may be wearing a halo, at least some days when I am feeling low
Thinking of all the good deeds done in my past, but this feeling will not long last
I am sinking so fast, my crown of of a halo
Soon will be the only thing surviving the blast
But the waters soon will calm down
And on the surface floats, my well earned halo crown

Painted Sun

“A water colour image or real life?” Gun Roswell

Painted Sun

As it rises and falls
It almost time stalls
A big bright fiery ball
Staring at it for too long
And you’ll too will call
Out in pain or more

But it’s so captivating
Looking at it stating
“How gorgeous, how fascinating!”
Why was I even waiting
To stand here watching
My mouth open wide gawking
At this scene so awesome, telling
Everyone should be paying
And all the artists painting
How can anyone look without fainting?
This nature’s wonder playing
There is nothing here faking
Only a star in the making

So, it rises and it sets
Never one day past lets
Always present in the sky
And each and every day i spy
The warming sphere
Never far but never too near

Blue Beach

“Lay under the blue sky on the cool sand” Gun Roswell

Blue Beach

Why don’t you, come on over,
To this place special, where
The Heavens meet the Earth
This, is the end, of the search

A place where, all that is lost, is found
A place where, the skies are the same as the ground
A place where, time stands still
A place where, there is only need for one skill

Enjoy the life that exist in the here and now
Of the time for freedom and being proud
Of the time for celebrating and singing
Of being what you are, as you come so far
Simply enjoy yourself, in the here and now

Opposites

“All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites”
Marc Chagall

Opposites

The other
Of a bluish colour
The other
Not at all duller

Opposites
In so many ways
Positives
You want to embrace

Colour in the Shadows

Posted in Simply Poetry

“I know that if odour were visible, as colour is,
I’d see the summer garden in rainbow clouds”
Robert Bridges

Colour in the Shadows

There it lurks
In the deep dark shadows
Soon bursting out, in fireworks
In one big colourful pose

Christmas in Summer

Posted in Simply Poetry

“Green was the silence, wet was the light,
the month of June trembled like a butterfly.”
― Pablo Neruda

Christmas in Summer

It’s almost, like Christmas
In the month of June
Nature, ever so fearless
When summer, came so soon

Reds and greens
Pretty, in every scene
Something, unseen
On this, widest of screens

Is it live or memorex?
It’s as good, as any guess
But wouldn’t settle, for less
After all, the winter was, a big mess

Enjoy it, while it lasts
For this season, too, will pass
And if there is any chance
Record it all, en mass

Lazy Days

“What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer,
the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months,
and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade”
Gertrude Jekyll

Lazy Days

Sunshine and lazy days
Warmth resting, on my face
Time going, at a slower pace
Hoping, summer, forever stays

Even, if it’s just a window view
Or a perfect image, someone drew
Still, this picture, may just come true
And then, I’ll wear my summer shoes

Solitary (one)

“Solitary trees, if they grow at all, grow strong”
Winston Churchill

Solitary

One solitary flower
Still had the power
To grow
Against the odds
Between a rock
And the hard place
