S is for Sunday

“Something about Sunday that makes me calm” Gun Roswell

S is for Sunday

The early morning with its light
Peeks through my covered window
The time is still before everyone is to rise
And everything in this house is totally quite

There is no hurry for anything yet
The only thing to do is to reflect
The weeks which is coming to and end
As I lay here on my comfortable bed

Soon another day and week will take over
But this, today, this Sunday still has the power
Of keeping me and myself in the moment
For a fee hours before it is time to let

The new day, with new things, begin
And the circle thus once again, complete

Sunny Days on Sundays

“Sundays, yes, those fun days” Gun Roswell

Sunny Days on Sundays

Smell the roses, won’t you
When you walk out side
Pop into a garden, filled with the
Colours of nature, trees, flowers

Everything you can imagine just
For the visual pleasures of us all
Stroll around, see the marvels

Sit on the bench, inhale
All the fragrants, your nose could ever
Have imagined, feeling peaceful, watching

The butterflies, birds and bees
Busy at work, gathering their sustenance, but
Your task, is to relax
And there is really nothing wrong with that

Elements of Water

“The elements of nature, can be sometimes harsh, other times, they can be soft, calm and a refreshing balm for this tired, human body” Gun Roswell

Elements of Water

The blue and endless waters with the soft sandy beaches, beckoned this weary traveller, before becoming too bored

The lure of it all, oh so tempting, and before I knew what was happening, I had made my way to the end of the very shore

The waves softly, even gently, splashing, against the solid rocks, the sand so soft beneath my shoes and socks

The nature, with a full knowledge of its certain affect, on this poor soul, as it made me all the way to this gorgeous site venture

And before the day was done, and I had all the possible fun, this place had become my most treasured adventure

Silence for a Sunday

“The streets are empty, the neighbourhood is quiet, must be Sunday” Gun Roswell

Silence for a Sunday

The unthinkable, just happened
As I thought no more time indoors could I spend
Then a good sign from the weather gods
As the sun started shining above
The streets empty from anyone
Even if I could go out, I would be alone
In this times of trouble and fear
I still prefer to have some sunshine burning my ears
As I step out to the great unknown
From my now open front door
I am glad of this moment of silence opened
As all and everything in time have completely frozen
And outside of this solitary space of security
I once again dare to venture without any scrutiny

Seated, while travelling

“Seat by the busy street or seat, by the seashore, who, could ask for more?” Gun Roswell

Seated, while travelling

Running around, in a small town
Too busy to see, and everywhere to be
Never time to stop, to really take a load off
But the exhaustion eventually catches on
And there is no more ways of staying strong
Then it’s time, and what’s about to happen ain’t no crime

Pick a seat, any of them looks really neat
Just at the local cafe close to the water’s edge
This is the place to a respite pledge
Order some juice or coffee maybe sample the local toffee
Feel the energy returning, the tired gears again churning
Soon to the streets you may want to seek
Just remember, to sometimes, take a load off on a seat

Sunday, Always On My Mind

“Sunday is so much better than Monday” Gun Roswell

Sunday, Always On My Mind

Why, is Sunday
Always on my mind?
When the working week starts
And Monday feelings smart
I have Sunday on my mind
If Tuesday brings some fun
Until Wednesday things get done
But enter Thursday
A total loose day
And again, I have Sunday on my mind
Finally Friday arrives
My face all in smiles
Feelings of Sunday on the arise
Quickly passes Saturday
My proverbial Caturday
One more night to sleep
In a slumber so deep
Dreaming, of Sunday
The one day
Always, on my mind
Oh universe, please be so kind
And let it always be, Sunday!

Summer Sunday at the Beach

“A calm, cloudy, and sunny Sunday, what a contradiction indeed!” Gun Roswell

Summer Sunday at the Beach

When the Sunday time, loudly, its present chimed
We ran, like we were on fire, out there, from the dire
Into the open wild nature, with colours so lush
There really was no need for any kind of rush
To enjoy the art work devised by our beloved Mother Nature
Was there for everyone to see, without any kind of fee

But we ran, as fast as any one can, really
For you see, there was somewhere else we wanted to be, really
Beside the calm and cooling waters, fooling around like a bunch of sea otters
We made our way, discarding all clothing, falling where ever they may
Splashing into the soft waves, letting the healing waters save
Ourselves in the process, as this was the place for us, the total bliss

We played and frolicked, until the darkness descended we stayed
Then only, reaching for the softest of sands, lending each other a hand
To find the discarded garments, a little dirty, maybe even sandy, was a mild statement
But nobody cared, as it had all been time so well spent
Out here, on the beach, on this summer’s Sunday we had reached
And if we were to be lucky, maybe next weekend, we could come back again

Seat at the Seashore

A sunny day
Better not. indoors stay
Haul your derrière
To a better frontier
A beach, quiet and calm
The sunshine, like balm
Rest for a while
It is time to redial
Breath from the belly
Try not to be such a tight-ass nelly
Force, a smile
Forget the vile
Let the nature heal
For this moment you steal
And maybe
You get the ability
To load you mind and soul
Get a fill to the upper bowl
When sitting still
On the seat by the seashore
