Winter Shadows

“The spring sun, came out for some fun and brought up, tall shadows” Gun Roswell

Winter Shadows

As the spring time approaches
It’s time to dim down the torches
The sun getting so high
Up in the bright blue sky
It is so unusual and unexpected
Almost as if everyone somehow neglected
Is the brightness and lightness of it all
Because ever since the time of fall
Darkness was all these creatures would know
But now, as the warmth and sunshine descends
Over the land, minds and souls start to reflect
All those happy thoughts one could do
When the nature and mankind alike
Start their journey out of the blue
Stepping into the now blinding light
Shedding their winter gear just out of spite
For, spring, followed by summer
Can never be, a total down letting bummer

Sun bed in the midst of rush

“What an odd place for a sun bed” Gun Roswell

Sun bed in the midst of rush

A seat, of summer
Right smack in the middle
Of a very rushed place

It looks so great
Even, a little inviting
In the sun now shining

I stop and wonder then
Should I some rime spend
To take a break and just sit

Yes, I just did

Sea, sunshine in summer

“Sea, sun and summer, nothing more do I need” Gun Roswell

Sea, sunshine in summer

Even on the cloudiest of days
I will not for long in a dismayed state stay
As I step outside into the calming beach
I am greeted by a cooling breeze
Nothing is more invigorating than the sea
Cool blues as far as my eyes can see
Even if I choose to just hang around
Take my place on the rocky ground
Or if I am feeling daring and adventurous
I can set sail to the open waves
In my small dingy of a boat with sails
I feel great, alive and most of all
I am spending the best of a summers time, at the seashore
And soon enough, even the sun cones out
Making this day too, perfect all around

Seats on the sunny side

“Take a load of, sit down, enjoy, the sun” Gun Roswell

Seats on the sunny side

When the sun shines
Shines, so totally fine
Fine, is the whole wide world
World, open, out going, bright
Bright, as the sun shining
Shining, high up in the clear blue skies
Skies, so cool and blue
Blue, the great hue in contrast

Contrast to the colour filled ground
Ground, on to which a few seats
Seats, to sit on for rest
Rest, to enjoy the clear blue skies and sun
Sun, which under it is time to rest
Rest on the seats set
Set, under the sunny side of the world
World, which enjoys the season
Season of summer
Summer, when it’s time to relax
Relax, on these seats
Seats, on the sunny side of life

“A warm day with sunshine” Gun Roswell

Sunshine

Sun, warm on my skin
Left the coat inside, going for a
Ride, on this cool day

“When I was a kid, the only way I saw movies was from the back seat of my family’s car at the drive-in” Forest Whitaker

On the Sunny Side of the Bench

On the sunny side of the bench
No option of getting drenched
Enjoying the long, warming rays
In these unworried and lazy days

Before the days are done
Soaking in the healing sun
With closed eyes this moment
Like an image in my mind burnt

Opposites

“All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites”
Marc Chagall

Opposites

The other
Of a bluish colour
The other
Not at all duller

Opposites
In so many ways
Positives
You want to embrace

Colour in the Shadows

“I know that if odour were visible, as colour is,
I’d see the summer garden in rainbow clouds”
Robert Bridges

Colour in the Shadows

There it lurks
In the deep dark shadows
Soon bursting out, in fireworks
In one big colourful pose

Christmas in Summer

“Green was the silence, wet was the light,
the month of June trembled like a butterfly.”
― Pablo Neruda

Christmas in Summer

It’s almost, like Christmas
In the month of June
Nature, ever so fearless
When summer, came so soon

Reds and greens
Pretty, in every scene
Something, unseen
On this, widest of screens

Is it live or memorex?
It’s as good, as any guess
But wouldn’t settle, for less
After all, the winter was, a big mess

Enjoy it, while it lasts
For this season, too, will pass
And if there is any chance
Record it all, en mass

After Sunset

“How strange this fear of death is!
We are never frightened at a sunset”
George MacDonald

After Sunset

After, the sun has set
It is time, to place the bets
Throw in the dice
Good luck, never hits twice

Who ever, has the luck
Will not, by lighting get struck
Where ever, they may go
Good weather and fortune will follow

Well, the promise of fair weather
Some time spent for leisure
Maybe a promotion or two
If not, good luck
Trying the dice, to sue!
