Shadow People

“Looking, ogling, watching, snapping selfies, people they’ll be!” Gun Roswell

Shadow People

Lurking in the darkness
Jumping out, making a mess
Those shadowy figures
Posing until rigor
Looks quite painful
Some quite dull

Before you even get to shout
They’re always on the look out
For that very best spot
Of yet another photo-op,
Where every they pop
No one can them ever stop

They are the selfie snappers
Always leaving an image after
The world wide web full
Counting from infinity to null
They are every where
Better not stop and directly stare

A different kind of race
Simply going at their own pace
Revolving around their centre
Is the world and time were
A duck face is the norm
And each picture is reformed

Do not get in the way
Or into a photo you may
End up inadvertently
Even quite accidentaly
And before you know it
You end up getting hits

Over there, in the world wide web
On this tiny blue sphere!

Tallinn, Estonia

Narrow alleyways
And painted windows
The old town is full of
Perfect hideaways

A church from the past
Should be quite the blast
It was built to last
Alas
It may be run down
But hey, this is the old town!

Driving a Lada-car
Will probably not get you very far
But most likely
To the nearest bar
Where you are always, the star!

Streets travelled

Seats out of the blue
Painted in the same hue, a cool
Respite, to take a seat

Sitting down, feeling the cooling
Sensations, like diving, in to an ocean
But in a seat at

The bus stop, where all
Other people sit, as I start to
Fantasies of the waters waves

I realize people start to
Stare, some giving me an evil glare
And I realize I am

Moving my arms in a
Fashion of swimming, or who am I
Kidding, it’s a dream, it

Seems, but I don’t care
I feel fine and I continue until
I reach the sandy shore

Things you find

Table for two

A table set for two
Under the mid day sun, for lunch
Or maybe a late breakfast

Two plates of warm dishes
Two plates of cold cuts, seem too
Much? Maybe invite a third

Wheel, but beware, they may
The attention steal, even the food will
Disappear, before your fill you

Are able to get, better
Just settle for the duo today, then
Have a party for four

On some other warm day

Things you find

Pots for all purposes

Pots and pans for all
Purposes great and small, for short or
Tall, use them for everything

Kettles may also be included
You need one at least to brew
Some tea, but alas, without

Too many plans, use them
For food and storage, even for porridge
But never stop using them!

Things you find

Buy me!

In the window of a
Shop, something made me suddenly stop, an
Odd little thing, flapping, in

The window, made of plastic
It looked so sad, and I was just glad
I found it before anyone

Else. Rushing into the store
I wasn’t so sure, if I even
Had money with me to

Buy the tiny little thing
But as I looked at it, it
Made my poor heart sing

So I pulled out my
Card, not so smart, alas I had
To buy that pink thing!

Things you find

Blue passage

A door way painted in
The coolest blue, heavily guarded it is
Not, alas, a key you

Need to get inside, into
The divine, which lies behind, the door
Painted all in coolest blue

But if the key you
Manage to find, then consider this an
Invite for you, then enter

Do, you are the few
Allowed to see, what lies behind the
Door painted in coolest blue

Things you find

Back to the drawing board

When planning infrastructure for the
Masses, a seemingly easy task to do
Go out there and put

Up a pole, make sure
You have enough wire, to get the
Electricity crackling for all those

Who are in dire need
Other wise your favourite TV show will
Not be shown on the

Tiny black box on top
Of the table in your living room
And the cold cool drink

Will turn up in the
Kitchen sink, tasting bland because it’s hot
And not a cooling beverage

After all, and what about
That fan on the window sill, do
You feel ill, too hot

Because it won’t turn on
For someone forgot to plan electricity for
Your dwelling of a home

“All those streets travelled while on the roadside…” Gun Roswell

Streets travelled

The street filled with restaurants
So many choices, I can eat what
I want, the smells so

Good, all this food, what
To do, what to do? If only
There were just the few

But alas, now I have
To pick one up, take the plunge
And finally, have a meal

Streets travelled

Red respite at the bus
Stop, a welcome hop for the weary
Traveller, from a foreign land

Sitting and waiting for the transport
Obviously delayed, then what is the choice
To make? Another form of

Vehicles take? Maye a bike
Or skates? But then, the arrival would
Be late and that, is

Not an option, after a moment
Of hesitation, at the almost empty bus
Station, I hailed a cab
