Turn to the sunny side of the Seat

“The sun is shining, well, what did you expect, it’s Sunday after all“ Gun Roswell

Turn to the sunny side of the Seat

Heat radiating from the shiny ball up in the skies, putting on some long awaited smiles, onto those dwellers from the dark, who had been smart enough, to make their way, out from their homestead caves, following the light, shining so brightly. After the long, long time spent inside the cold and humid place, which seemed endless and without the grace of goodness on the side, not even one single blink of light, but now, it was that time of the year again, where all the fear of winters’ wrath, was in the past and the joy of spring and summer soon to follow, leaving none of the hollow. Their minds and bodies filled with a new sense of purpose, and the nature outside growing because of the sunlight filling the skies, would nourish the dwellers of dark for the next six months ahead. And there would be no rest, expect on the Sundays, where all of them could take a day off and simply take their seats, on the sunny side, of the flower filled hills.

It’s not that comfy but it’s still a seat

“It’s a Sunday so I takes a seat, admitting defeat, as lazy be me” Gun Roswell

It’s not that comfy but it’s still a seat

Call me lazy, call me sleazy, sometimes even too sleepy. Call me what you must, but on this day of Sunday, nothing will get me moving from my perfect spot. As the title clearly states, today is the day of a Sunday seat, and whether it might be rickety and not so completely neat, this will be, that one respite for me. And you see, this is not out of being lazy or other wise hazy, well it might just be that too, but hey, after a hard weeks worth of work, I do not consider it be an action of a jerk, to simply want to sit down, and let the day, slowly and gently, pass by. And until that daunting day arrives, that of a Monday, this is all just fine, maybe with some wine too, or juice, what ever works for you.

A seat on a bench on Sunday afternoon

“Take a load off, on the nearest bench, it’s seat Sunday, after all” Gun Roswell

It’s close to the time, when the weather will be just fine and taking a dive to the great divine, nature, or maybe, just the close by neighbourhood, as you should, enjoy this time, when everything starts to sprout out and kids are chanting quite loud. Yes, it is the spring which has gotten us all so very wild and that is all really fine. So, go, get out there, take a stroll, even a short one will take the load off, from all the indoor activities, which in these days are the main things we tend to do. But not today, not on this finest of Sunday, where the sun is shining and birds are chirping and yes, some of it might be irking just a wee, but you see, nature, the outside, that will make you smile. So, put your Sunday shoes on and take the leap, out the front door and go, go explore!

A seat in a shadowy hideout

“Seated in a hideout, in the calming shadows, away from the scorching sun. That is part of the holiday fun” Gun Roswell

A seat in a shadowy hideout

The day had been quite long with the sun shining pretty strong. Luckily, the weary traveler had found the perfect of spots to make a pit stop, a perfect one, to take some load off, the tired old feet while taking a comfy seat. It was the perfect hideaway, from the busy streets of the day, in a cool and calming shadowy place, planning there for a few moments to stay.

Without any kind of hurry on display, the traveler decided to have a moment for themselves. To enjoy a light meal, as hunger had made its feel. After all, strolling back and forth, was causing a lot of energy to be used so now, it was the best time some fuel for the body to consume.

After a somewhat lengthy break, seated in the shadows away from the sun, it was time again to get up and about, have a few more looks around and see what there was to be found. And then later on come back to this wonderful and relaxing place for some food and drinks, as this was the best one to think of to load off.

Summer seats in the midst of winter

“It might be hard to find a snowless seat in the midst of winter, at least outside, but in summer, there are plenty of respite to be found for the weary traveller“ Gun Roswell

Summer seats in the midst of winter

An image from a few years back, landed on the top of the stack. Take in the midst of summer, where the warm summer rains still felt like bummers, but drying up quickly, never leaving the wanderer sickly. Like it would happen right now, out there in the freezing cold weather and icy snowfall, especially if you were running out there in really short shorts. So, if you venture out there in the ice cold wintry scare, remember to bundle up, real tight.

But, for today, the enjoyment of a Sunday, non too sunny day, will most definitely be, the pictures I in front of me see. Those precious memories captured in the sunny and fun filed moments, on the warm streets, of the city, which, well usually during the night time sleeps, even in summer! And with that thought, I spend my day bundled up, in my very own spot, the recliner chair, as I am definitely not going outside!

Painting on the streets on a seat Sunday

The Sunday always brings out the artistic side of me or at least, the art buyer that is” Gun Roswell

Painting on the streets on a seat Sunday

The non too busy shopping streets on a Sunday afternoon is what most leisure shoppers seek. The peace and quite, simply to take the time to browse around the produce on sale, especially all of those handcrafted details. The painters there too, conjuring the caricatures of the odd passersby, most of the artwork done with a smile. And then making a sale of the same, both parties happy with the end result without blame. And one other thing seems to be common for both seller and punter, the eternal bargain hunter, is that of the afternoon sun, and when it gets too hot to be walking around, a cool and calming respite is the only thing to be sought, as it is something which easily cannot be bought. And a seat in the shade, well that is like winning a small lottery or top price to be gained and then, spending the rest of the day, on a seat without complaints, well, that is what Sunday is all about without a doubt.

Sundays filled with sun

“Sundays, yes, those the fun days” Gun Roswell

Sundays filled with sun

Smell the roses, won’t you When you walk out side Pop into a garden, filled with the Colours of nature, trees, flowers

Everything you can imagine just For the visual pleasures of us all Stroll around, see the marvels

Sit on the bench, inhale All the fragrants, your nose could ever Have imagined, feeling peaceful, watching

The butterflies, birds and bees Busy at work, gathering their sustenance, but Your task, is to relax And there is really nothing wrong with that

The seat and the snow

“Take a seat, in the middle of the snowy scenery” Gun Roswell

The seat and the snow

The white and crispy clean snow, beckoned to venture outside, to the seashore, even with the hard wind blowing. But the sun was shining so brightly and the glittering slopes, or rather huge piles of the same stuff, were perfect for any kind of wintry activities. So, picking up a pair of old school skis and a kind of a rusted and somewhat busted sleigh, and then, out the door was this eager snow loving persons way, and in the open wide wild nature to stay, as this was a perfect of days for such fun activities.

Then after so many hours, which in all honesty were just like thirty minutes or so, the sings of exhaustion started pulling towards some kind of respite for a moment to stay. As the overall physical condition were not really equipped for such a sudden outburst, where sweat and pumping heart was part of the equation. Spotting the best place in the park, and like an x marked red bench, was waiting for this tired old ass, to take a load off. And the scenery, wasn’t too bad either, as it was the best spot to spy on all the others, having their wintery fun too, on this Sunday, somewhat overdue.

The afternoon sun, reflected off of the freshly fallen snow, now covering the frozen waterscape. A solemn bench still remained by the seashore sat, as if waiting for someone to take a load off a spend a moment to escape, especially, on such a fine day. Alas the streets were quite empty, not really sure as to what that had prompted, as not one single passer-by was anywhere to find, even if the sunshine, should have tempted everyone out and about for a stroll or a simple fresh breath to allow. Hours passed again, the sun ready to set in, for the night ahead, but still, a few rays dared to peel through and then, one creature courageous enough, had come out and was now, seated, on the very bench, in the sunshine still at reach, snacking on his big acorn, delighted to do it in some peace and quiet as usually, finding such spot, would instantly cause a riot. But today, he got some alone time, surely rare, in the big city, open wide.

Seats for Sundays

“A respite, on a sunny Sunday day, cannot lead anyone, astray” Gun Roswell

Seats for Sundays

Under a decorated window, a fire engine red coloured setup lies
Completely surrounded by flower pots, with various sorts, all of them bright
The comfortable and all so cozy extension of the house painted all white
Inviting all, friend, neighbour and even stranger, to sit, just, for a bit
As on this sunny day of a Sunday, after walking, you really needed, a respite

Two soft looking seats, awaited, in the bar, so modern and totally sleek
It did not take too long, for us tired and thirsty tourists, to sink into them deep
Not wanting to move a muscle, only trying to avoid all that hustle and bustle
Even a wave of the hand seemed a chore, but not wanting to be a total bore
A whistle to the server and soon enough, to sets of drinks were brought to this respite
So totally cool and calm, but mostly, for us, the perfect and best fit

The beckoning, of the bluest of the Mediterranean seas, on this sunny day
Lead the weary tourist, now looking for that perfect respite towards the bay
Where the perfectly made table and two chairs awaited to be seated on
The odours, the smells, of lunch time menus, so inviting and totally strong
It would have been utterly disrespectful and yes, completely wrong
To steer somewhere else and not to take advantage of this risen opportunity
Where taking a load off your feet, combined, with something great, to eat
