Welcome to Acropolis

“It’s the travelling to the far corners of the earth which leaves one in awe” Gun Roswell

Welcome to Acropolis

Climbing the tall steps ever winding
Good thing I got great shoes my poor feet binding
No one warned it would be so hot and humid
But I can take it, just to see the ruins
A well-kept secret among the locals
There be so much more to see you need bifocals
Just to capture the essence of the ancient past
As all the structures are fading fast

But the good folks of this here country
Are trying to preserve this unmeasurable bounty
Restoring all with major care and respect
For us touristy types to enjoy and accept
That history is a great thing and needs to be preserved
And not just for the looks and feel of this heard
But to remember, it was all totally real
And to take pleasure of the past and its feel

Cats a Pose

“Whether a furry feline or a porcelain facsimile, they are all a posing” Gun Roswell

Cats a Pose

Strike, the perfect pose
To give us, our cuteness dose
Of a pretty cat a walking
Never mind the mice a stalking
Just fluff up your furs
Maybe, something else will need to be stirred
For this photo op now, to be later framed
For the utter and total admiration to be blamed
Because, no one can really resist
A cute little cuddly cat, whom exists
Not even, if you are a true hater
You can save those feelings, for much later
Now, a moment more, just wait
The cat will definitely not hesitate
Striking, that pretty awesome pose
And there, yes, we got one, very close!

Slow Sailing

“The sails are hoisted, let’s set sail, to the promised land” Gun Roswell

Slow Sailing

Down the lake side
In the great open wide
It’s only slow sailing
Without too much of failing
As the window comfortably blows
The sun sometimes up shows
This is the calming life
After the weekly strife

Just a small dingy with a sail
Me, myself and I, never flail
The perfect moment just here
In this place, on this small sphere
Almost alone in the world
But somehow not, awaiting to be hurled
Into the crowded spaces
As soon as this trio is ending
But that is just fine with me
As I got this moment to spend with just me

Traffic, Jammed

“Lots of traffic! – Can we make it in time?” Gun Roswell

Traffic, Jammed

Vehicles of all kinds
A parking spot is hard to find
All the roads are blocked
As they streets with cars are stocked
Hurrying to beat the red light
It’s always such a hard fight
Waiting for the bus
Which some days is a must
Running like a mad person
To reach the stop in time reason
Alas, it has already gone
Or maybe, it’s stuck with a yawn
What ever the method of transport
In the busy city it’s a mute choice
Since there is always heavy traffic
And it takes a long trek to navigate
Reaching any kind of destination
So, then what?
Walking without much hesitation
That could be the only good deviation!

Visit Greece

“A colourful country with a fascinating history and a turmoil present, who knows what the future will bring!” Gun Roswell

Visit Greece

When ever the is an agora to be visited
The Greek sure have it completed
Even if the whole buildings collapsed to ruins
They will find the fun in a minute
The old and the new collide
Painting pictures of the past into your mind
Those who have come and gone
Have left an imprint for us to explore
Walk down the rocky roads of the here and now
Let them take you back without the how
Explore it all, with your imagination
Soon you’ll be flying back without hesitation
Even if its all just make believe
Always remember, what here you have seen
The history, the present, the future
Mixed up in to a pleasant blow of soup

Camping in style

“When camping, do it in style, camp style” Gun Roswell

Camping in style

When the bug hits you
It’s not so easy to refuse
When the great open wide beckons
It’s really the time to reckon
Whether to pack for a trip long
Or just a few days going strong
Camping can be cool in a van
But a trip on a bike
With just enough gear to hike
Beats the mundane bed
When sleeping on the ground instead
But the ultimate luxury
For a weekend trip on a hurry
Is a caravan from the beyond
Call it campy camping fun
But the looks received will secure the pun
In a seventies vehicle
Of a trip quite memorable

Colours in Black and White

“See the world in monochromatic colours, all the greys you can imagine” Gun Roswell

Colours in Black and White

When the world gets much too bright
The colours so totally lush and vibrant
You only want to tone it down ever so slightly
And what remains,
Is all in total blacks and whites

But never forget those shady greys
Which all them scenerys may stain
But there is something gorgeous in the shadows
Where the monochromatic themselves allow
To be as colourful as they may

There is colour all around
From the skies to the lowest ground
They may all be all in black and white
But just the same,
They give you the chills and smiles

Harbour living

“Harbour life, don’t think twice, just come on down, it’s really very nice” Gun Roswell

Harbour living

Rent or buy a small boat
Just make sure it will on the surface float
Then adjust and decorate the tiny cabin
Never mind the little things lacking
Take the vessel out to the wide open sea
All and everything try to see
And when the day has come to an end
Head the boat to the harbour again
The evening with new friends then spend
And when it’s time, lay yourself in the cabin to some good rest
Before the new morning beckons on an other adventure again

Gate Keeper

“There is always someone on the lookout, at the gate, a guard of sorts” Gun Roswell

Gate Keeper

The always vigilant one
At the gate keeps having fun
At least to them selves
After checking out each and everyone
Which there dare to delve

But it can also be lonely there
Where, there is no other time to spare
Except keep watching all the time
Not even the late evening chime
Will make the gate keeper leave their scene of crime

Alas sometimes, there are advantages
When nice passersby bring them cartridges
Filled with the finest of whines and food
All the gate keeper must do
Is to sit down, take a slack back and enjoy

After all, there might be things to lose
But then again, sometimes, the battles, you just choose
Taking time off from the duties so serious
Is a must or then one could go quite delirious?

Seated in Samos

“Seat by the busy street or seat, by the seashore” Gun Roswell

Seated in Samos

Running around, in a small town
Too busy to see, and everywhere to be
Never time to stop, to really take a load off
But the exhaustion eventually catches on
And there is no more ways of staying strong
Then it’s time, and what’s about to happen ain’t no crime

Pick a seat, any of them looks really neat
Just at the local cafe close to the water’s edge
This is the place to a respite pledge
Order some juice or coffee maybe sample the local toffee
Feel the energy returning, the tired gears again churning
Soon to the streets you may want to seek
Just remember, to sometimes, take a load off on a seat
