Sunshine during a cloud day

Belgium high up in the clouds

“Ain’t nothing better, than a little sun peaking through the thick cover of clouds in the middle of a rainy day” Gun Roswell

Sunshine during a cloud day

The foggy day, much to everyone’s dismay, was getting the mood all down, leaving nothing more behind than sad looking frowns.

It was by design as the greyish day, was there to slay, at least the people there, walking down below in much dismay.

Such is nature, always on the lookout to harm anyone who dares, to harm it first, and so, you get the gist of why all the foggish mist!

But, then, a hope of something appeared, right there from the cracks of the feared, ominous clouds over and beyond.

Before any of us could respond, with a cheer of some sort, it was all but gone!

Such is the power of nature, after all!

The concentration of a photographer

“The dusk setting in, final rays of the sun, painting colours over the water and land, but the pix snappers work is never done, as this is where the fun only just begins” Gun Roswell

The concentration of a photographer

That perfect moment, only there for a second, concentration of the essence as the need to capture the very scene, is vital, mental even for the snapper of every which event happening all around and everywhere

Hysterics is the best way to describe the mood, of the snapper, having clicked, way too soon, but sometimes, they might just succeed and the perfect capture is presented right there, on the screen

But, these days, even with all the fancy technology, devices plentiful and always at hand, pun intended, the moments go past so fast, the hand eye coordination cannot fathom what happened and so, the blurry snaps, filling the storage fast

Still, if even one of the millions, is as good, a stamp of approval there should be put, then a happy face on the snapper will replace, the permascwol usually present

Then again, what is considered a good or great snap, is debatable, just check out the facts out there on the world wide internets.

Night Time Horizon

Helsinki, Finland

“The night time is captivating, both in colour and light, all of them bright in the darkness, much more interesting too” Gun Roswell

Night Time Horizon

The city lights, shining ever so bright, reflected on the waters surface, but no purchase for them to be found, as rippling and swaying, slowly and surely disappearing, into the depths of the darkness, the liquid them consuming, blending into the murky waters, never to be seen again, until the time, when new lights beam upon the shores, as the city skyline will come to life, somewhere there in the far away horizon, long after the sun has been arising, and set for the durance of the dimming night.

Hiding behind the setting sun

“The setting sun, is engulfing the sky, painting it red, on the fly, not even trying to hide, blinding those who dare to pry“ Gun Roswell

Hiding behind the setting sun

The red colour the first clue, that of the sun setting for sure

There was no place to hide, from the sun’s light, not even at this stage of its existence before the day’s resistance became too much and as such, the sun needed to go, at least, for the night

There was really no fight, apart from the one final display of power

The skies glowing bright red instead, no hiding from any of it

And then, after the scene, the display most powerful, the sun was gone in an instance

Leaving those small creatures, trying to hide from the show, but only to be able to bow

In front of the magnificence of the celestial body in awe

And soon after night fell, the hiding places plentiful

Need for sure as without light, shining the land brightly

There was no security, for the critters small until dawn

Disappearing one and all, into their lairs familiar

Making sure never to question or doubt, the mighty sun and its dome

The eternal giver of light, warmth, security and in the end the daily show

The Metro, a subway, the tube, the underground…

Paris, France

“Take a ride on the train, running underground! What fun can there be found!?” Gun Roswell

The Metro, a subway, the tube, the underground…

The ride quite simple, just purchase a ticket and what for the arrival of the long or short train, depending on the time of the day.

But as you are waiting on the platform, many a people are there to form, even a brief line before stepping inside the waiting car, of the train going deep, under the ground, it’s in the name of it right?

But what a sight, all the unexpected things, or then not, depending on the points of view and what one really expected.

Still, if you are a casual stroller, then simply enjoy the ride, even if just for the heck of it, going around and around, right there under ground!

The delicate window

Seurasaari, Helsinki

“The old frail construct, made of glass and a wooden frame, try not to breathe too hard near it or it might just fall a part“ Gun Roswell

The delicate window

Old, frail, inconvenient, hard to handle?

Just the same, it has lasted a long while, even giving a few smiles, the delicate framework, the painted artwork, all of it from the past, refitted to a modern day cast.

And so, serving a purpose once again, the window, lending a peek through time, as how else would any of us learn, of our past, the long history, present there, through this, very old looking glass.

Reflected in a sparkly glass

“It’s some kind of philosophical reflection, of the very life, passing by, but reflected in a simple contract, a glass filled, with liquid“ Gun Roswell

Reflected in a sparkly glass

The setting sun, the wavy waters, life, as we know it, all of it contained, in a single glass, of some kind of liquid, sparkly at that, bubbly even, like some of the people only can be, but that is not the point which the onlooker seeks, rather looking in deeper.

And as they find out, that is only half of what there is to see, because if looking really carefully into the swirling liquid inside the glass, letting the old imagination loose, closing the trick filled eyes and what wonders can you really spy.

Mysteries from the past, the lives lived on these oceans, those people, watching the setting sun, just like the one, seeing the reflections now in the glass by the window sill, taking in the fill of what there is to see, behind the mind’s eye.

Seated in the shade on a sunny day

“Sitting in the cooling shade, even if I’m going to be late, from Sunday” Gun Roswell

Seated in the shade on a sunny day

The sunshine on a Sunday is always great, but then again, when it gets too hot, then it’s no longer so, and the best place to rest, or at least have a respite, is under the shade on a seat made for that special place. And so, the whole day, might just be well spent, seated under the protective shade avoiding all movement at all, but mostly, avoiding the brightly lit sun and the encompassing heat, and ain’t that simply neat.

But if such a seat might not be found, anywhere even if looking around and everywhere, there is still no scare as daring, into the sunny outside, can also be very nice, at least for a short while, until the heat starts to defeat one and that will soon be 5he end of fun, and the option remaining is to simply run and to quickly find, a spot outside of the sunny shine, preferably in a shady spot, well, then the day would continue smoothly once again, and the rest of the day could be spent, in the calming shade.

The bridge and the tower at nightfall

Helsinki, Finland

“The nightly crossing over the bridge, will you to a bell tower lead, the road ahead well lit, so you won’t trip!“ Gun Roswell

The bridge and the tower at nightfall

The bridge over the murky waters, the sun long since set, the last remnants of the rays glowing red, hanging low over the nightly skies

The trouble here lies as over the bridge the need to trot, to get to the other side, where the place one calls home, resides

And so, with a heavy heart and a sigh, the task at hand starts, as there is no try, only the effort, of getting home, safe and sound

The noises of the nightly life loud, but luckily, the lights are on, even if far in between them all, they still give a hint, where to trot, and never step across, and end up in the deadly cold waters

Running never an option, the slip and slide easily stopping, the trip halting, coming to a dead end, literally, and so, choosing each step carefully, when headed toward the goal

Soon enough, the bridge has been crossed, the bell tower in sight, and what a pretty one it is in all its might, the home of the nightly wanderer dead ahead

Sunset most red

Rhodes, Greece

“Ah, the setting sun, what fun! The most cliched happening of them all, mostly photographed, admired and no wonder, as it is simply gorge!” Gun Roswell

Sunset most red

The sun is setting, against the ocean it is letting, itself fall into deep, deep slumber, dreaming of wonders, as it lies in the great yonder, dreaming of stars and the moon, before it is time for another round, the sun to rise again, to shine beyond them all, brightly in the early morning hours, just after the rain showers of the darkened night, and then only can it shine, like nobody would mind at all.
