Trying on a Ride

“Too many vehicles, too many choices” Gun Roswell

Trying on a Ride

When the itcing to take a long ride
Takes on, but then it’s so hard to decide
Which option, would be the absolute best
Better just pick up one, really quickly, and forget the rest

Heading to the crowded streets
This really never is, what I seek
The open roads, the sun on my back
That is the image, which is painted on my back

Steering clear of the city limits
I know, it took a few and some more, of them gimmicks
But soon enough the highway is in sight
And my poor little scooter, is finally taking flight!

Monochromatic Ride

“Riding on the monochromatic streets, on these, two wheels” Gun Roswell

Monochromatic Ride

On a highly tuned, yet very vintage looking bike,
Down the lonely, colourless, black and white streets, I ride
The cold winds, on my battered, wrinkled old face,
But that’s no matter, ’cause I am certainly not, *that* stained
And I definitely not, a person, whom in just, the one place stays
Not at least, for that long
Even if there would be, any sense of “to belong”
As I slowly, and intently, pass by the onlookers, they are watching me ride
And yes, that is really just so fine
For I am really not got nothing to hide
But heck, I may even break up in a big smile

Two to four wheels at the time

“Rides of another land, can be different from what you are used to” Gun Roswell

Two to four wheels at the time

When roaming around the roads of a different land
Sometimes you want to try something else than to stand
On your two legs, strolling around might be a lot of fun
Or then too damned exhausting under the scorching sun
So why settle for tears and lots and lots of running sweat
Why don’t you try a different approach instead?
And hop on a ride with two or four wheels and let
These manual and motorized vehicles of plenty
Are simple and easy to be selected
Just walk into any of the road side rentals
Try and pick up the most suited pedals

Then follow these few steps
And you are for a day set:

Fill up the tank
Don’t forget your thanks
And like in the cliché movie done
Ride towards the setting sun
Like I said, this can be a lot of fun!

Up an down

“Stairs, like life, take you up, and down” Gun Roswell

Up an down

Sometimes going up, really fast, two steps at the time
Feeling so light and fine, face plastered with a smile
Other times, slumping down, hardly one step, with shaky legs
And a large, and topping that, a distorted, saggy frown

Still useful

“I may be old, but I am still useful” Gun Roswell

Still useful

Old and crooked, wrinkled and busted
Weathered, and certainly not functioning like I’m supposed to have lasted
But a fresh coat of paint, a few pretty flowers from the bench
And voila, I am serving a new purpose
Out here, for everyone’s enjoyment

Bike ride in winter

“Ride your bike, even in winter” Gun Roswell

Bike ride in winter

Down the slippery slop i go
Never ever wanting to go slow
They say follow the flow
But its a bit difficult in the snow

Riding on the icy roads ahead
Never knowing where the trails lead
But never trailing off from adventure
Even with a few benders and dentures

Summer winter spring or fall
My bike and i will never stall
Peddling away never stopping
Always on the road forward hoping

Snow Ride on a Bike

“Riding a bike, in snow, in the middle of winter?” Gun Roswell

Snow Ride on a Bike

Early morning
The nature scorning
Snow and hail pouring

What to do
Cannot loose
The time, need to choose

Digging deep into the pile of snow
With a shower and a brush in tow
Trying to find my salvation, going slow

Finally, reaching it
This is where it hid
Under layers of white powder, shit

Finally brushed and dusted
The ride from last year a little rusted
But still working, well maybe, a little busted

The pedals and saddle
Not up to par, I ride gently
At first, then speed, well tentatively

Up the snowy hill I push
Against the wind’s gush
I know I need to rush

Down the hill seems easy
But I am feeling queasy
After all the effort, I need some cool breezes

The goal so close I can taste it
I am pushing my poor bike to hit
That personal mark, I can win this

Oh, it wasn’t a competition per say
Just a raise against the elements and time on the way
But now I am here and willing to stay

Got my survival kit
My face is lit
And I have won, winter: eat it!

Choose your ride

“Take a ride on a bike, a moped or in a taxi!” Gun Roswell

Choose your ride

Choose a city bike on a days fare
Stroll around the monuments with flare
All around your eyes will glare
Once you get the taste of the city
Soon you’ll start feeling real giddy
And time is gone in a jiffy
But wanting to see it all
Even if you have to stay until fall
Now you’re wishing time would stall

If on a moped or motorbike you’ll dare
Don’t worry, there is no scare
Just follow the safety rules with care
And into the traffic you’ll ride with flare
Oh don’t you worry if people may stare
They’re just jealous of your fancy fare
Ride the streets wide, narrow or bare
You’ll have a blast, going so fast, that you’ll even have time to spare

If you’re feeling lazy
After a trip here so hazy
Then hop on a taxi cab
Moving slow or fast
Depending on your destination
There is no need for an explanation
Enjoy the sights from a comfy seat
There is even a cooler when too much heat
Soon, the city tour taken
Without even one leg shaken!

Picking up some wings
Has its wins
But if you want some style
And sail up the Nile
Or just hop on a train
When there is no need to explain
