About summer

About summer

The summer time, seemingly fine with all the changes to the land and nature, the weather different from the wintery cold kind of torture. But there is just something totally different out there, in the garden, in the fields, something you don’t very often see, when the snow covers most of the ground. Something so uplifting and colourful, the smells alone, will warm your heart and soul.

There is something about summer, which will most likely not be a bummer, despite the overly high temperatures and the mostly missing rain. But when looking out the window, the abundance of green colours in the trees and the grass on the ground, well, what can you say? It’s completely different to the white snow during the other months there to be found.

So guess, for now, despite the negatives, I am enjoying this, simple time, where most of the clothing is even optional, with sense of course and then take small walks into the nature around my homestead and merge myself to the colours of all those blooming things and maybe even try a small ditty to sing?

A flower of the day

“The flowers are still blooming” Gun Roswell

A flower of the day

The flower for today
Here on a nice display
Not a pretty little thing
Just a bad drawing
Done in haste
But did nit want it to go to waste
A naive painting
Will not be the zing
But if you gave a quirky smile
That will do for a while

Monochromatic Madness

“Let’s try to see the world in black and white today” Gun Roswell

Monochromatic Madness

Today I see everything, in black and white

Why?

I just guess I was too tired, to argue, what is wrong and what is right?
And the n finally, giving up the eternal fight:

Of constantly proving, that other colours do exist
But, that you, just have to, really let
Them inside of your own, tiny and closed world
And then completely, in to the colours get hurled

Because, building up a view, of two colours only
Might end up being, a scene much too lonely
But if you are willing, to sink in there boldly
Then, whenever you find yourself, in total dismay
You just might end up, seeing all the shades, of grey

The nuances of the monochromatic
Some of them, are oh so dramatic
And soon, you realize, it’s not so bad after all
It’s actually quite the opposite, even fantastic!

So, I guess, when the two or more colours mix
A gorgeous pallet of various shades does exist
And it’s all, going to be really, really great!
And that’s what matters after all, in the end!

Phases (1)

“Living through different phases” Gun Roswell

Phases

From flowery to fluffy soft

Once in a full moon, these tiny white flowers come to bloom
But none too soon, they start to slowly swoon
Their petals transforming into something completely different
As the structure slowly vanishes, leaving behind a fluffy construct

So soft and delicate
But the form still quite accurate
As the wind starts to blow
The tiny things themselves detach
Then up in to the air they flow
Flying away, really slow

In the end, only a stem remains
Because nothing here forever stays
A reminder of the circle of life
But do not worry, there is no strife
It’s all the phases each and every living thing
Must endure, whether, fall, winter, summer or spring

Flowery three

Flowery

Bells

Bells of garden keep on ringing
The prophesy of summer fulfilling
The lilac coloured creatures
Will be the best of the features
Of the small patch of colour complete
In the midst of a city concrete
Onlookers passing by
Soon they too will smile
Singing along to the sound
Of the bells ringing near the ground
What a pretty place to see
In a other wise grey sea

Flowery two

Flowery

Purple

Spread wide open to the sun’s rays
The purple belle sure has it ways
To lure in all the power it needs
And when night falls, it feeds

Pretties of all the flowers in the garden
It’s petals soft but inside quite hardened
You may look at it but do not touch
The belle does not care for others much

Each years she comes out at summer
Several weeks it lasts in full flower
But then the belle also must hide
For another winters smite to survive

Flowery

Pink

A pink peony in the rose garden
Tried to impose, sneak in, hide it’s true nature
But the others were much smarter
Imposing the impostor, right from the get go

They shunned, pricked, ridiculed, turn their backs
For trying everything and anything there really was no lack
The roses were adamant to chase the peony away
Never in a million years, would it be able to stay!

But a million years and more passed
And still the pink peony has lasted
Growing tall and strong and pink
In the garden, full of roses, in sync!

“Ready for my Close-up”

Getting closer and closer
A little more closer
Almost close enough
For an object to touch
But wait, time to hesitate
The cactus with mighty thorns
May your fingers scorn
Before you loose
Better choose
The creamy strawberries
With their pals blueberries
A tasty treat
Without any meat
Some eye candy to complete
With a red amaryllis ever so sweet

“This is Major Pink,
Calling ground control, over”

“Ground control to Major Pink,
We hear you loud and clear”

“Uhm, I am in a wee bit of trouble here,
It seems, my pods won’t retract, over!”

Simply Pink

Yes, we are pink
Yes, we are in sync
Yes, we may stink
Yes, it’s the odour of pink

No, we are not a missing link
No, us, you can not drink
No, we are not an inc

So, just let this all, slowly sink
