The ens of the road

“Beach, finally here!” Gun Roswell

Take a short walk along the long pier
Dip your toes into the water when you get there
Feel the summer breeze on your burning skin
Let the holiday feeling finally sink in

Stay a while at the very end of the pier
Let the sunny rays wash away any fears
Of letting go of the mundane And embrace the upon coming fun day

Take a slow walk back to the beach
Then turn to look at the glimmering sea
Just remember you can always return
Until it’s time for the leisure time to adjourn

Crossing the Icy Lake

“A cold and crispy day, but sunshine warming up the display of the outside looking inviting, for a stroll on the lake“ Gun Roswell

The sunny day beckoned towards the open waters, only they weren’t as open this time of year, rather frozen solid like the rest of nature.

The snow covering the surface of ice, thick, which in a way is safe and nice, especially for those taking a shortcut across the lake.

The tracks there found  by so many others gone there before, taking a leisurely stroll or hurrying to work, and the one perk of enjoying the scenery while doing so.

But for those having the time, simply enjoying the warming sunshine in the midst of the coldest of winters, is something totally divine.

Autumn’s Lanes

“Forget the Yellow Brick Road, no this is much better, the path of the Fall, Autumn if you will, just follow them bricks and mind your step!” Gun Roswell

The view from my window
Almost like a suburban meadow
Nature growing wild and free
Only a glimpse of the road I see
The pathway to our house
Narrow and more fitting for a mouse
Black asphalt with a touch of green
Surrounded by colours more gorgeous
Than I ever seen
Mirror mirror on the wall
Which of the seasons
Is the prettiest of them all
Why Autumn of course
Such a nature’s force

Trash Haul

“Someone’s trash is someone else’s gold or at least a heap of rusted metal dumped on the yard“ Gun Roswell

Trash Haul

The trash having long been stashed in the cupboards, the closets and the old garage

All of them boxes filled with supposed glittering gold, some day to the highest bidder to be sold

And what now?

Well, guess it has becomes simple the trash of old and on its way to be hauled

To the dumpsite, the recycling centre where all these things eventually belong

Luckily though

They can all be reused, recycled, used for another purpose than the old

And isn’t that just great, having a new use, a brand new fate?

The Road Clear Ahead

“The road quite clear, now that the plow towards it had steered, vacuuming away all that snow” Gun Roswell

The Road Clear Ahead

The main road, leaving towards towns and even destination unknown, was filled with snow, suddenly having poured, over night

What a total fright!

But hey, it’s all alright, now that the plow has arrived

Working hard, no one single part, not even the very sides

The offensive snow, soon hauled away, even if it is just for a while there

As soon enough, a new front will arise and more snow will be on the way

But for now all ahead is perfectly clear

From very far away and even near

The road ahead, simply waiting for the travellers to get on instead of waiting

Perhaps even hesitating, whether to hit that path towards vistas familiar and unknown

And so now, it will be easy enough

As nothing really too rough awaits

No need to carry a shovel, unless, to some non-plowed road you want to travel

A road to nowhere

“Sometimes one simply needs to take a road, leading to nowhere much, the journey the point, not the destination“ Gun Roswell

A road to nowhere

The red bus or the black taxicab, biking, hiking or even slow walking, it really does not matter which mode you just might be choosing

The main goal is not to goal, rather enjoy the journey ahead, no matter how hard or sad, there is always something to be taken away from all that

At the end the goal might just shine, but even if you won’t reach it, either in time or at all, the best of it all, are the gained friends, the memories in the brain’s store

The Long Road Ahead

“The road ahead might be long, but taking the first step towards the goal is a start.“ Gun Roswell

The Long Road Ahead

The journey to be taken, sometimes alone, often times in company of others, might seem long. Especially when starting on it very young. But as the time passes, the small steps towards the goal ahead, seem less and less far away.

Then again, some days, no matter how long the travel milages has you taken, the goal seems so far away, with the time running out and there still being so much of the stretch of it to catch along. Then what can you do?

Well, your very best, perhaps with the existing style steps or changing a pace to reach that end goal while others are cheering you to move on.

The road of winter

“The long road ahead, filled with snow no less!“ Gun Roswell

The road of winter

The winter season trip to visit, people you know, may take on a slow tone, as all the roads are now filled with freshly fallen snow. Of course they will be plowed at some point in time, but none too soon as the time to leave is now and turns out, that the roads about to be taken, are not in the list of the plow persons priority. So, the only we may of keeping going, is slowly and carefully, and of course, making sure, that the tires are slippery proofed, meaning that they are suited for any kind of winter weather as those are the only kind of tether, keeping you on the road itself and not rolling into the ditch. And don’t forget the shovel, you know, just in case there might be trouble. So, if you have these safety precautions considered and prepared for them, maybe even add some extra warm clothing and a pack of hot coco bottles to the mix, then you should be fixed and ready for the car kind of sleigh ride of the winter, as them roads are most likely real slippery, so sliding your way through, might just be a real option to make your trip to your friends to visit.

Stoney path ahead

“The path ahead, may not always be a smooth one, as some times, the smallest of pebbles, may cause major troubles, so, better watch out for where that next step will take you!“ Gun Roswell

Stoney path ahead

The choices made ahead now lay, as the path, which seemed so unclear a while back, now clear as day and only waiting for the first step to be taken, as the earth below, remains unshaken, and only will be truly waking, from that footfall taken to the new direction.

Alas, there is also the sense of fear, always there quite near, which can be rather healthy, but also something hindering, the adventurous mind from exploring the wonders out there, just because of that very same fear is imploring, to never the status quo leave, and to cower in fear.

But, if you are not the one being afraid, of whatever ahead of you may lay, even if the road ahead is filled with sharp stones, trying to break each and every bone in you fragile self, and all the obstacles, no matter how tricky or bent, ready to tackle without a doubt in your head, then follow the path wherever it may lead, with a mind, body and soul totally free.

With dust in my tracks

“I am always leaving fast, with the dust in my tracks” Gun Roswell

With dust in my tracks

When I do leave, a place, any single place
I usually, like to leave, my own mark as well
Be that something permanent, carved on stone
Or, just simple specs of dust, in the air thrown
So, today, when the sun was finally shining
And the wide open roads me gently beckoned
I jumped into my trusted four wheeled steed
And pushed the pedal to the metal for the speed
The dry and sandy path ahead, to an idea lead
To leave a sign of my being here, on this sphere
As I drove down the lane, like a person, insane
The only thing to be seen, as I left the slate clean
Was the thick and ever climbing, spectacular sighting
Of a cloud filled with small grains, forming the dust
Leaving it hanging in the air, until the day fell to rust
