Rocking around the warm fire (old school style)

“Somewhere in ancient times, people used to hang around the open fires, in the darkened rooms, rocking the night away, in a chair“ Gun Roswell

Rocking around the warm fire (old school style)

The old school home, with its old school decor and old school ways odd spending the evening, at home, quietly, together, the whole family seated in a circle, around the open, warming fire, the matriarch of the family, in her rocking chair, sharing all them stories from the distant past, just like it was, the tradition since way back, the oral history shared to all, as at some point, the very duty would fall, onto the children when all grown up and so the circle of life continued, in the olden days.

Another Rocker of a Chair to sit on

“A seat, not with wheels, but something better, which leads to a rocking motion, soothing and well, perhaps lulling the seated one, to a sleepy existence” Gun Roswell

Another Rocker of a Chair to sit on

The old school chair, still has its lure, the oddly shaped legs of it, not really the four excepted, rather reminiscent more of a sleigh, gliding across the floor, but still, remaining where it was laid.

The rocking back and forth, might just seem odd, then again, if the sitter, lets its affects gain control, on the body and perhaps even the soul, then soon enough, a sense of calm will be gained and then, falling asleep somewhat deep or perhaps not, but at least a nap of sorts.

And it will all be thanks, to this rocker of a chair from the past.

Rocking on the Chair

“The rocking chair, lulls anyone seated there, to a deeper kind of sleep, at least if you don’t get seasick along the way!“ Gun Roswell

Rocking on the Chair

The chair from all those past lives lived now being revived

The chair where from the grandmother would advice give

The chair from the childhood where mothers used to sing songs

The chair which rocked you to sleep all those years ago

The chair with the recognisable creaks against the floors

The chair made out of lasting materials wood, as they used to

The chair worth mentioning in several kind of old lore

The chair unique enough leaving no one seated never bored

The chair still as cool, sleek and surprising like it was before

The chair, well it keeps on rocking, rocking, rocking away to the groove

The chair where there is really no sleeping in it as it is on the move

The chair never good for cats or really any kind of animals with long tails

The chair was invented by someone who wanted two things to combine

The chair can be found in some homes, at least those whom the past respect

The chair, is a chair, is a chair, so please, do, take a load off

Rocking away in an old chair

“The good old rocking chair, will take you there, albeit slowly“ Gun Roswell

Rocking away in an old chair

The old and busted wooden chair, in the corner of the room glared. It wasn’t in the greatest of shapes, and most likely beyond repair. But it was a reminder of ages past, when useful things were built to last. And the memories of people already passed, seated in the respite for a while longer as the soothing rocking motion felt stronger, lulling away all the bad and sad of the day, before it was time to rest lay.

Deciding to try the very best, to rescue the poor rocking chair from its destination, of becoming kindling for the fire, as it was totally in need so dire. So, taking the chance and maybe in the process or reparation making it last, several more years and then creating, new memories while rocking away in its lulling haze during the evenings long, after all, it was supposed to be an heirloom of sorts.

A few weeks later, the end result of the saving process visible, only this time not in the corner, rather a better and visible place chosen for this breeze from the past, and certainly, looking much more bolder in its new coating. Certainly the worthwhile effort and a lasting joy for all of us wanting to rock in a chair even if going nowhere.

Rocking Chair

Adventuring up the stairs
To see what’s hidden in the lair
What did my little eyes spy
A blast from the past
In front of me lie
Gramma’s rocking chair!
