There is some salty sea water, in my blood

There has always been sea farers in my family, seamen, sea-women, as even my grandmother was one, simply call them sailors as they sure did, sail I mean!“
Gun Roswell

The raging waters beckons me, to take a deep dive into the ocean wide
Why take the dive some might say, as the land is so much safer than the seaside
I simply reply: Because it is a part of me, the salty waters running deep within

There is no denying, the mermaid inside of me has risen finally
The dead give away? The fins where my feet before used to be
So, there is nothing to it, just rushing to the nearest harbour and dip
All of myself into the rushing waves, soon becoming my slaves
As I become one part of the whole, the one thing my heart stole
Even before the day I was born as this has always been my true self

So, no more dwelling in the role of a total land lubber
My feet are now almost like some kind of rubber
As I swim away from the safety of the familiar shores
And into the deep end of the life which is nothing like bore

Ghosts? Ships with Ghosts?

“They can only be seen, when the fog gets too thick on the highest of seas, the ghost ships of blue that is” Gun Roswell

They can only be visible, when the seas are filled with the coolest of those solemn hues, the blue fog surrounding the waters and when the visibility is just a few metres. It is then when the ships appear, to their special spots all over the waters edge. In the colour of blue they are shrouded, and appearing there without any passengers allowed on board them. They are the ghost of the past and the future. Not of us, but only themselves, those many ships which had sunken without any kind of trace off of the face of the world and into the deep abyss hurled. This is not to scare anyone with their presence, only acting as a reminder of the dangers, of putting too much trust in clear blue skies and calm waters, and not taking enough precautions. For the sea is not a safe place for the unprepared, by two always remember to make safety first. But if you happen to spot those blue coloured ghostly vessels, well, better err on the side of caution and stay out of the water, at least, for that day.

The calming blue liquid known as water

“Water is the most coolest of all the elements. It is so totally calming and always rejuvenating, and so, there is no way to not to feel refreshed after a deep dive into it.” Gun Roswell

The calming blue liquid known as water

Water comes along in the colour of blue, turquoise, or something in the shade of grey, or perhaps without colour at all, it really does not matter, as long as it will continue to fall, down, down, down from the open skies, at least sometimes in most areas.

Water is the one constant which is needed to survive life, to drink, to wash with, to dive into it or then simply, sit by the side of it and admire the mere miracle of nature, as even if it sometimes seems to come along far too much down, there is no hatred behind at all.

Water is the element of elements, the one to write songs about, to paint the pictures of and most of all, the one to be revered as a sent of gods, as there might come a day, when water is no longer there and then using all the spares, will leave us soon enough without nothing at all.

Finding relief in the midst of summer’s heat

“There is nothing wrong with a little bit of fun in the sun, until it gets really too hot!” Gun Roswell

Finding relief in the midst of summer’s heat

The day too hot and running sweaty, inside trying not to let it in, but the humidity sweeps through the cracks on the walls, which were supposed to stand tall for an eternity or more. Still, the heat and the sun seem to find their way, no matter what. Simply no respite from this kind of a torment to be found not even if sitting on the cold concrete ground. The only choice, to go outside, for some cool and calming breezes to try to find. Well, that would be the ultimate winning price am I right?!

When out the door, the wall of hotness hits in the face and slams you back against the floor. The smells of flowers, trees and other summery fields all forgotten, as the stinky odours of the hot and humid weather front greets you there. The only hope for some relief, is to try to get down to the beach, where the waves are bringing in, the cool summer winds, near by the water’s edge, where sitting on the ledge and letting the fine summer winds embrace you until the skin, has cooled down and then maybe, that seemingly permanent frown, will turn upside down.

Blue, Bluer, Bluest

“Cool, calming, ever so charming, is the water, in the colour of blue or basically, any other hue will do” Gun Roswell

Blue, Bluer, Bluest

Water reflecting the surrounding blue skies and the ocean hues, on to the surface, of the small pool, situated on the patio, painted in blue. The pools so totally small it only fits one person at the time, which is all, just fine, as I really do want to be, left alone. At least, for the very moment, when I am feeling blue, brooding, within my few thoughts, which is really not a lot, but still, something, telling when surrounded, by all the blue. I really do enjoy, the blueness of it all, the water, the sky, the painted WHY on the wall. The colour of my t-shirt, jeans and even my eyes, all blue as am I. What ever it is, it’s gotta be blue, the coolest, and most calming hue. Like that of water. Water so fine, it is almost divine and that, makes me smile, even if I am so totally blue, it is almost transforming my very being to a translucent cool blue hue. But, more the blues, is really not that bad, as it does not have to be sad. Just blue, bluer and then I am turning to the bluest of them all.

Boats, and similar vessels can take you there, somewhere

“There is something about the open sea, when in a boat, out there in the open wide, even if it is a simple dingy of a vessel, it is fine, as it is so totally freeing simply letting the waves lull you, to some place far away…” Gun Roswell

Boats, and similar vessels can take you there, somewhere

The calm of the sea, the colour, the texture, the all, I wish I could just flee, in a boat, no matter the size or the contents, just as long as it moves, slow or fast, is fine as I can just get out there, to the open, wild waves, carrying me everywhere and anywhere, forgetting my past, even if that fact will only for a moment last, being one with the ocean of the world, to be gently hurled until it is time to come back and face the slack I may have caused while on the shore, as oh life, what a total bore, you can be, sometimes and the only good options seems to be, the wide open sea.

Blue is the Beach

“To lie under the blue sky on the coolest of sands” Gun Roswell

Blue is the Beach

Why don’t you, come on over,
To this place quite special, where
The Heavens, meet the Earth
This really is, the end, of your search

A place where, all that is sometimes lost, is now found
A place where, the skies, are the same, as the grounds
A place where, time itself, stands completely still
A place where, there is only need, for one, special skill

Enjoy this life, that now exists, in the here, and now
Of the time for freedom and also, being proud
Of the time for total celebration and, yes, even singing
Of being what you are, as you come so far
Simply enjoy yourself, in the here, and now

Sea, sunshine in summer

“Sea, sun and summer, nothing more do I need” Gun Roswell

Sea, sunshine in summer

Even on the cloudiest of days
I will not for long in a dismayed state stay
As I step outside into the calming beach
I am greeted by a cooling breeze
Nothing is more invigorating than the sea
Cool blues as far as my eyes can see
Even if I choose to just hang around
Take my place on the rocky ground
Or if I am feeling daring and adventurous
I can set sail to the open waves
In my small dingy of a boat with sails
I feel great, alive and most of all
I am spending the best of a summers time, at the seashore
And soon enough, even the sun cones out
Making this day too, perfect all around

Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse,
but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine”

Sunshine Reflected

Spring time,
According to the calendar
It would be fine
But the weather is challenging
Never mind
Just unwind
Look deeply, into the sun

Dream it
Wish it
Want it

Looking at the water
It’s getting warmer
Dare to dip in?
Of course!
I am a Finn!

Sunshine Reflected

Early morning by the seaside
Working day, office calling
Cool air, feeling the breeze
Never mind, it’s pretty outside

Trying hard this moment to seize
The clock is ticking
My mind is sinking
Would rather stay here, this is my thing
Dragging my feet, stalling
Dreaming,
Slowly, into the water falling
