“Something about Sunday that makes me calm” Gun Roswell
Sun, like in Sunday
The early morning with its light Peeks through my covered window The time is still before everyone is to rise And everything in this house is totally quite
There is no hurry for anything yet The only thing to do is to reflect The weeks which is coming to and end As I lay here on my comfortable bed
Soon another day and week will take over But this, today, this Sunday still has the power Of keeping me and myself in the moment For a fee hours before it is time to let
The new day, with new things, begin And the circle thus once again, complete
“It’s summer people, time to go and get out there in the open wide nature and even as far as the waterfront” Gun Roswell
Down by the Laituri (pier in English)
The time of the year, when you head for the pier and simply enjoy the cool breeze, without a worry to the bone freeze. How is this even possible you might ask. Well, it’s really quite simple, because you know what time it is right? It’s summer after a long haul of winter! So, don’t be a total bummer. Rather enjoy this very special time of the year, and do head for that nearest pier. And then let the warm summer wind loll you to a lazy sleep as you take a nap in the great outdoors. And that is simply because you can, as the weather is quite warm. Without any worries of sleeping until the next dawn, as now it is always light outside even during the night. So, without any kind of fright, be like that summer’s light and be on all the time, at least until fall, when it’s too cold, to sleep outside. And you really should trust me on this one as I would not tell a lie. It’s all so much fun so do it before the summer is done and done.
“What else is there to do on a sunny day but to sit on its rays?” Gun Roswell
Sitting by the Sea
Waves washing gently the shores, where the small pebbles of rocks are stored. The birds high up in the blue skies screeching, about to take a deep dive. The fish swimming away, trying to keep the hungry gulls at bay. Boats leaving the harbour for the day, as the workers onboard need to bring home a good display of the catch sometimes causing dismay. All and all, a regular sunny day by the seashore never a bore, and definitely it something of a chore to sit here lazily and maybe once in a while, snore.
I, myself am too lazy, of doing anything but. Seated on this perfect reflection point on my very own butt. The day quite warm and wind none too hazy, what else is there for my kind of person except to sit here and at the sea be gazing. After all, I am a mere observer of life, even here, beside the ocean wide and if I am lucky enough, all the happenings I here today see, will make me smile. Otherwise, I can simply come back again tomorrow early morn’ and be on the lookout for something more.
“The cliche of a sunrise, well, it just makes me smile to look at it, that’’s all, the sunrise I mean, not the cliche!“ Gun Roswell
Sunrise by the seaside
Walking on an empty beach in the early morning hours simply to reach, that best spot on the sandy shore, to catch the first rays of the dawn. Making my space on this on specific place as I wait with patience for the spectacle of the morning display to come alive because without that special thing to be seen, I am not able my day to begin, rather falling to a pit of darkness, caring less of it all, and that is no way to be living.
But I am staying strong, knowing the ball of fire will not take long, to make its appearance like it always does. And it is simply because if a day would happen, without seeing at least of glimpse of that one shiny thing high up in the skies, then most of us would likely die and that is no lie. As the bright and fiery star even from a far, give us all that we need to survive and if we are smart, we keep on worshiping the bright bringers of life each and every morning, as it rises over the horizon.
“On a glorious summer’s day, crisscross around the bay“ Gun Roswell
Crisscross around the bay
The day sunny and warm, great as a matter of fact just after the storm. The question remained as to what would be the best way to spend it, as time left now was plenty. The calm between the weathers ever changing and really no time for complaining. The only choice really was to rejoice and pump up that feeling of having some fun out there in the warming sun.
Hitting the beach and finding a small boat so totally sleek. Then jumping right in an d hitting the blue waves, and cruising all day long before the winds once again would get too strong. Crossing the bay and then back again. Like a merry go round only better in so many ways. As it was on the seaside the waters making your smile. And the ride, well that too was quite wild.
In essence the day going fast by as having fun will apparently turn the clocks wind to faster than usual but still, taking a break in the midst of a stormy seasonal shake. Well what could be more greater than crisscrossing around on this small size lake.
“It’s always good to get to the seaside for a boat ride, no matter what size it might just be“ Gun Roswell
Ready to set sail for the free day?
As the weekend finally begins, it is also the time for the heart to sing, not just because it is the end of the working week once again, but also because this means, setting trail for the seaside and then it is only a matter of time to hoist the sails and steer the boat towards the setting sun, or at least that will follow later, as the early morning haters, are now up and about, giving the passersby a shout of joy, as thus, the free time has begun and if lucky enough, the time of fun also begins. It’s not all just fun and games, a lot of work will be involved while being on board, but whatever needs to be done, sure beats the homey chores. And if the weather remains on our side, then the limit is the ocean wide and the open skies, and in my book, that is simply fine. Then after a while of sailing, a break is needed for the reeling. Time for eating, swimming and simply being, alive and well, inhaling the smells of the sea. Then off again, to some more time on the waters spend. If the choice was there, sailing to the world end, would be something, on the agenda, but for now, a quick three days dash, will clear up the itching rash, figuratively as the need for the sea, is always present when stuck on land. So, enjoying this time while we can, and that is really all we can ask.
“There is nothing like taking to the sea, in what ever format there you want to be – it totally calms ones mind!” Gun Roswell
Sailing in Solemn Waters
The calm of the ocean beckoned this weary traveller, from a far away foreign land. A long trip had already been taken to reach this point to the place I now would stand. But there was still a long way to go, before I was able to get my fill of what I truly needed. As it was as urgent to me, as it is for someone else to get their daily worths of feed. Because my only purpose was in getting my needed share of the great oceans’ flare. Which is to me as rare as pure gold might be for those, acquiring the wealth in one good sell. So, take me to the shores of beyond, where the warm and calming winds blow. Where I can go further than I was actually told, for these waves get me totally sold.
“Some travel memories, you’ll never forget, those spent by the calming blue seas“ Gun Roswell
A day of leisure by the seashore
The day filled with sunshine, ever since dawn, skies so blue, painted in several hues, hanging above the seas for eternity, the few fluffy clouds making some change to the otherwise blue canvas, but I am not laying the blame as Mother Nature did a great job again today. It’s a picture perfect scene at best, and I may be adding my own little memory twist here, but those random images found in the desk, were totally taking me back to a time, when mostly, the world was just fine and taking a holiday to a faraway land so different from your own, was something of the divine. And nothing could wipe out that big smile off of my face, while staying in that place.
But, the most important thing of this epiphany is, that I usually am at my most happiest, while staying by the sea, the ocean, even a lake, or maybe, a small pond. Water, being the operative word here, the calming balm created by nature for your pleasure. I love to swim, or then, simply to sit on the shore and stare at the waves without much of a bore, until the setting sun, is giving me a spectacle worth the wait, not to leave with the rest of them after a day spent on the sandy beach. No, not me, as I plan to spend the whole night, watching the stars so bright, enjoying it all to the fullest, after all, rest of the life might be at its dullest, but as I look at the pictures, my mind takes the trip, back onto that sunny beach. And who knows, maybe I will be back there next year!
“Going fishing today, after all, it’s a free day, or Friday, what ever you want to call it, I am outta here!” Gun Roswell
Harbour Life
Today is the day, when I am getting myself a life, living that is, instead of existing, or at least, that is the grand plan! To be honest, this has been the plan for the past year or so, to get out my fishing gear and simply, just go, to get out there, and have some fun. Granted, fishing might not be a top choice, or even a good choice, but it would be the once for me today, as it was the last of the working days and I needed to get out of the house. And, as there was a nearby fishing village, with small boats to rend kind of cheep-ish, I knew what I was going to do on my one day off. Getting my gear together, I was soon out the door, and even if there was not going to be a big fishy score, the point was to just get out there to the shore, hop inside a dingy, and row, row, row out there, spending a day without care.
So, after a short peddle on my bike, towards the harbour now in sight, I stepped off and went to the shore, to get me some lures, the wormy kind at that, as I wanted to go all retro to the bat. Next step, was to get some snacks, as no day would be perfect without the editable as I wasn’t counting on the fish to bite. Besides, I could not very well eat them raw, sushi never being a favourite so what ever catch would have to be properly prepared, stirred, fried and what ever it took. Next step was then to rent the vessel, a small one with a miniature motor, and good looking oars, as today, was all about them chores. After the deal, was sealed, I was finally able to set sail, or rather take the paddles to my hands, and start my venture off land. What better way, to spend a free Friday!
Spending all day long, on the lulling waves just outside the shore, not daring to be too adventurous, after all, the tiny ship was hardly able to compete with the ships tall. And when the sun started setting, I was off the hooks getting, with a few fish as a reward, most likely a dinner for tomorrow. It was time to head back home, this time using the motor as my arms were sore, all day long spent fishing, so guess that was to be expected, which was fine, I dejected as they would be worse tomorrow, after so much exercise, but hey, I wanted to live the life, so here I was, a fishing person, heading to shore after a long day spent on the waters edge, but hey, I had scored, fish being my reward of the day!
“It looks like the picture-perfect version of a paradise, except it’s all in the colour of blue, but hey, that is simply my chosen hue” Gun Roswell
Paradise in the colour of Blue
What is the most sought-after place, either here on Earth or then somewhere else, even around in the galaxy, where all of us so hard try to find, that one perfect spot, where it all supposedly did start for our kind? The life, us, the animals, all the other beings including the aliens out there, which I know to exit, all the surroundings, even if the scientists might state, it was a some kind of a big bang of a thing, which created it all, like throwing in a ball, that split to a million pieces, leaving, all that you now see, behind?
Well, you may know it called simply, as Eden or some other cute name, now stalled, in some temporary time dilation field like this was a scene, straight out of some fantasy flick. But, it’s still there, in whatever shape or form, and, if you keep on looking hard enough and long enough, that one special spot, can be yours, no matter where or even when nor what colour it might exist in, you will know what it is, when you finally with your own eyes it witness, Paradise.
