Two sets of light

The sun shine so bright, bringing in all that light, even to the darkest of corners of the dwellings deep on the inside.

But even if the sun is switched on, and shining quite strong, it just might be, that you will need some extra spice, and then turning on the electrical kind.

So now, you’ll have two lights, painting your day, one from the outside in and the other, well most likely only keeping score on the inside of the room you are staying.

What matters though, is the fact that the darkness is gone and you are able to move along, the daily chores waiting to be done, until the light is gone until another dawn.

Behind the shadows, light peeks

The darkness descended all over the land, the time of year, someone retorted, but there was nothing better at hand, part from some artificial lights shining the way, even if it was in the middle of the day, as this phenomena was there for a while to stay.

But, there was really nowhere to stray, the path still clear, no matter night or day, the only difference, was the total darkness, having taken a hold of the northern part of the blue globe, aptly named, as Polar Nights, there was no manner of fight, to prevent it them from happening.

Having gotten used to this, seasonal trade, as in turn been given practically nightless nights in the middle of the summer times, for several months on end, only the light would there play, but now as it as late in the year, the seasonal celebration neat, the darkness was the one true constant.

And so, moving forward, day by day, as if slaves to the rhythm, apathy and frowns, taking over the once proud and smiling dwellers, like they were inside of a spell, but knowing this was only temporary, they moved on, out of spite to last over this, prolonged night, as light, would in the end prevail.

Seat in the warm shadow

The day sunny once again, after a long stretch of winter and almost total darkness, despite the snowy white mountains ever growing, a day of sunshine is a surprise and perhaps a blessing. But, then again, jumping from one end to the other, can be a bit of a stretch, and letting the sun overcome all of it, the mind, body and soul, however, the rays just might be a tad too strong for the pale skin just coming out of the darkness and so, finding some middle ground, perhaps in the shadows under the covers, but still visible with light. So, the perfect spot, perhaps closer than thought, a shelter of a thing, where someone had built tables and chairs while recycling, old wooden pallets and thug making not only unique pieces of art, but something way more smart, like a seating area where one could be able being part, of the sunshine filled day, stay outdoors in a way, but still, having a cover over their heads.

Light and the Shadow

When the darkness finally withdrew
None of us, really knew
What might be lurking behind
The darkness, we now considered divine
But as the first sings of the new
Reflected through the clouds few
There was no questions asked
Only, a few in awe let out gasps
As the blinding rays of light
Struck us all with its powerful smite
All of us, stunned to the very core
Some, swooning to the nearest floor
It took some getting used to
But soon enough, all but a few
Had a new entity to worship on
And it it seemed, this one, was quite strong

Shadow and Light

What things lurk in the shadows rim
Evil or good, why don’t you go and take a look
Maybe you will like what you find
Maybe, there is something so fine
Or maybe, even something divine
It will make you want to live there for good
Even though you know, you really not should
The temptations whispered into your ear
As you enter the darkness without fear
Deep down you know it is so wrong
But you are determined and think you are that strong
Resisting the urge to stay
As you only come along for a short play
After a while, there is no more time
And maybe you feel just fine
Soon forgetting there ever was a light
But the nagging feeling, gives you fright
Starting a struggle to get away
But the light, is only on a small display
Nothing more than a tiny dot
As you remain sitting there, in your darkened spot

Photo 101: Day Nine: Warmth & the Quality of Light

Photography means “drawing with light,” and when you snap a picture with your camera, you use and record light to create an image. When we’re out and about, we use the sun — our most abundant light source — to capture our scenes.

Today, capture an image of warmth, using the sun as your source. And if the sun is nowhere to be found, don’t worry! You can interpret warmth in a different way.

Today’s Tip: If you’d like to experiment more, consider the direction and quality of light. First, let’s talk about front light and side light.

Today I decided to stay indoors for my photo shoot. Why you ask? Simply because the sun was hiding behind thick and heavy rain clouds and the overall mood was damp and dreary So, the only option was to stay safe and sound indoors. During today’s Midsummer festivities in our company’s office, I had the opportunity to mix business with pleasure. I used artificial light in capturing the reflections of the liquid of the sparkly wine and glasses. Served also were ice cream and strawberries, which I used as props. Adding some Photoshop to the mix, this is the result I came up with. Enjoy!
