Sunshine on a Mundane Monday

“It is great to find magic in the mundane, especially on a sad day of Monday” Gun Roswell

Sunshine on a Mundane Monday

Look, who decided finally to show up
And for a while there I was starting
To get all upset and wound up!

Then quickly, I am up from the tub
Grabbing a hold of my favourite cup
And then towards the outside,
With a set of a few huffs and puffs
I dare to go
And yeah, none too slow!

Just before, that is,
My all time favourite show
On the television, is up!
As the sun decided to turn up
Way too late of the day
Much to all those waiting
And now complaining!

But hey, it’s Monday
So what did you expect!?

Snail, Snail on the Porch lay (or moved, not sure)

“Slimy they be. Maybe, but also quite fine-y, predicting the weather and all, so for an animal that small, I dare the weather person to do the same with just their own antennae!” Gun Roswell

Snail, Snail on the Porch lay (or moved, not sure)

The weather forecast of a stormy and rain filled day, was about to turn in to a finding on display, at least, on the world wide web as the slimy snail looked too cool to ignore, so what the heck. Snap, snip, post, done, what could have been more fun? Certainly not sitting in a darkened room staring at the ‘puter all day long, even if the feeling of missing the working day seemed wrong.

Well, as it turned out, sitting beside the small snail on the porch, for the better part of the afternoon, soon turning to eve, which came way too soon, as watching the small animal making its way to the hide out chosen by its mate was more of an adventurous day the pix snapper had had in a long, long while! And that in itself, was definitely worth a wide smile, am I right!?

Sprouts from the snowy shadows

“Against all the odds, these sprouts of spring, keep popping up from the snow“ Gun Roswell

Sprouts from the snowy shadows

So, it was supposed to be already spring, and all them flowery types were supposed the summery songs to sing, as it is, that time of the year, when the freezing fear, should have been completely and totally over. Alas, the weather gods, did not agree, and so now, you see, a lot of snow and freezing below the zero types of things are still happening. What a bummer for those of us, who had awaited and expected so much, as the calendar page turned to this phase in time, slowly, but surely indicating something better was on the way than this bland snowy dismay.

But there are a few tiny sprouts out there, who are completely and utterly crappening, on what ever the deities or rather keepers of the changing climates are doing. As these small hopes of spring time, are coming out in full force from the frozen floors of nature. Popping up from all kinds of places, refusing to remain in stasis and much to all our warm weather loving types, they are slowly but surely coming alive and that is making us smile and forgetting the vile and freezing winds, which still out there are trying to encourage both us and those sprouts and that is a reason to shout out loud:

“Spring time for us all, winter soon will fall!  Yippee Ki Yay or some similar fun type of a word!!!”

Early morning hours

“Looks pretty, the outside with sunshine, snow and freezing temperatures, at least when stalking it from the warm inside“ Gun Roswell

Early morning hours

It looked really cool, the sunshine and the blue
Reflected off the snow, in all the colours hues
The sunshine, totally awesome and sublime
Combined, the wintry scene storybook divine…

Alas, when checking what is the outside temperature
Today, well below the degrees of zero, way too irregular
To have good enough wardrobe to even make it
Out there without several times changing to fit
What ever nature is about to throw your way on this day
So, the decision, becoming very clear and easy
Rather then into so many restricting layers to squeeze in
Closing quickly the curtains and deciding of staying
Inside in the darkened room, where it is always cozy
As the other option of blinding lights and frozen skin
Is not as attempting at all, as the scene just seen
Through the window wide, but that is all quite fine
As now, I’ve got the nice and scenic picture to dwell on
During those hot summer days when the complain is strong

Autumn morning in Suburbia

“It’s too early and way too dark and I cannot see much of anything! So, guess it must be, a November morning!“ Gun Roswell

Autumn morning in Suburbia

Very early, in the morning hours, after, a very quick shower
Looking outside, my window, and here, is what I do know:

It’s the very month of November now, the year gone by, so very fast
I hardly had the time, to really look around, and then it was already past
The moment, and already, the new year soon knocking, at my door
And I had not even bought, any kind of presents, from the store
Because the tradition demanded, that of a celebration, at the turning
Of a new leaf of this so called life, we are supposed to have been living
But, as I turn to take a good look outside, and the similar view I see
Each day, seemingly the same, all year round, except now, it is less green
I know the clock is ticking, and slowly but surely each day, is changing
The view now so familiar to me, but, soon will turn to something completely
Different, and then again, I will be here no more, to watch all the seasons
As they continue their ever lasting rotation, outside this same window
The circle of life some say, and hey, that’s just fine, but then one day
I would really like to stop the time, and take a really good look, anyway

Stormy Weather

“The forecast, predicted, heavy rain fall, after the night fall, in the dark, only dogs bark. Yeah? Not in this weather!“ Gun Roswell

Stormy Weather

Storm and rain, will leave a totally sordid stain
But trying to sleep and dream, and the to blame
The weather, because you just woke up
From a nightmarish really bad feeling kind of stuff
But it does not matter, one way or the other
Because when you look outside the bedroom window
There it is, still out there, howling, that blasted storm
Alas, you cannot control the weather, and no matter
How many forecasts or predictions you try to follow
Then, trying to catch some zees while the overall outside
Is such a messy breach, of thunder, rain and winds

Then here is what I will suggest for you to do:
Put on a pair of earplugs or noise cancelling headphones
Then, you can sleep through the night, like the dead does
And to develop a great relationship with the weather?
Well, just pick up a camera, a phone or similar and snap away
Some really nice pictures, for the memory, yes, those are great
And admire the nature of creating such a pleasant scenery

A Cold and Stormy Night

“It was a dark and stormy night, at least, when you turned off, all the lights, and I guess, it was windy too, outside, as the title suggested it, right?“ Gun Roswell

A Cold and Stormy Night

The window view, as I was peeking through, in the darkness of the middle of the night
Most certainly, gave this, always up of a night owl type, quite the heart chilling fright
As the pouring, all soaking rain, was completely leaving, the window surface stained
But then again, it is just the ever changing weather, so who on earth, would complain?

And even if, some of the naturally occurring seasonal changes, sometimes, makes one sad
Especially, when the freezing cold air, is slowly seeping in, no matter how warmly you are clad
But hey, this is only one season out of many, with the types are plenty, or at least, we hope
There might be more of them, coming our way, because I just got myself, a new winter coat

Alas, whether the weather gods above, decide us to allow, some good stuff, more or less
Sunshine, rain, snow or yes, even wind, it will all be good, as long as we get all the variables
And maybe more, so, next time when I peep through the window, to the great wide, outside
I will enjoy the view, no matter what, as performed by Mother Nature, without too much of a whine

Seasonal Skies

“Just keep on watching the skies, even if you something odd spy, like blue skies!” Gun Roswell

Seasonal Skies

The low hanging clouds of the grey skies
Was the trade mark of this seasonal pie
After all, it was, once again, the time of fall
Even if somehow, the summer, was skipped with five
Or more days, despite the occasional mild
Some might call warm or hot weather on the side
Of May, June, July and perhaps even August went wild
For half a day or so, but I digress, because this
Was supposed to be about skies
Which do not really care that much about the season
Because given even a smallest of reason
The blue skies, will try to push through all
The dark cloud coverage, because they are simply that bold
And even if the clouds hanging low and grey
Will put up, quite the menacing albeit picturesque display
The bluest of blues, are my kind of hues
Snapping, snapping, snapping my clicker away
Wishing, that maybe, this time, they will longer stay

The ever calming rain, over my window pane

“There is just something so calming about the rain, even if it pounds against the windows, leaving them stained” Gun Roswell

The ever calming rain, over my window pane

The rain fell, so hard, on to the ground
On its way, pounding, on each and every surface, so loud
It woke me up, with a huff, in the middle of the night
And, as I tried to reach, for any kind of light
There was nothing there to find, only darkness
Remained there, for its very cold hardness
Of not being able, to go back to sleep again
And it was all so much, just because of the rain

But as I lay in my ever comforting bed
After finally having stopped tossing and turning, but instead
Started really listening, to the wondrous melodies
Played by the still storming weather, now harmonious
Making sounds outside my small window sills
The calming effects, where starting to slowly feel
On my tired body and mind, finally, shutting down
And before I could think, of anything more
I was in deep sleep, with only sounds of my snores

The rain and the blurry

“Ain’t nuttin’ wrong with a wee bit if rain, to wash away all of them stinky stains, which all over remain, after, well everything” Gun Roswell

The rain and the blurry

The everyday people, on the streets scurry
Causing, the image take, to get really blurry
As not all of them, seem to be in such a hurry
Or then, it is simply, the ever falling rain
Making all the motions of everyone, exactly the same
Fusing into one and other, on the busy lanes
Causing all the pictures momentarily seen, to each other blend
But, there is no more time, on this specific scene to spend
Even if I would get an umbrella from someone as a lend
It would be impossible, to escape the downpour
The only option would be to pray for sunshine or something more
Alas, for now, the weather as is, even though a spot sore
Will have to do as the allotted time is of the essence
As in this place my current presence
Will need to be hauled out in a few more seconds
So, what ever needs to be captured, during this time
Whether the images blurry or then simply, just fineI have done the job I needed to do, to get by
And so, for now, I am outta here!
