“Take a load off, on the nearest bench, it’s seat Sunday, after all” Gun Roswell
A seat on a bench on Sunday afternoon
It’s close to the time, when the weather will be just fine and taking a dive to the great divine, nature, or maybe, just the close by neighbourhood, as you should, enjoy this time, when everything starts to sprout out and kids are chanting quite loud. Yes, it is the spring which has gotten us all so very wild and that is all really fine. So, go, get out there, take a stroll, even a short one will take the load off, from all the indoor activities, which in these days are the main things we tend to do. But not today, not on this finest of Sunday, where the sun is shining and birds are chirping and yes, some of it might be irking just a wee, but you see, nature, the outside, that will make you smile. So, put your Sunday shoes on and take the leap, out the front door and go, go explore!
“No matter what they are made of, cats are cats to be adored“ Gun Roswell
Trinket Cats
They fill the shelves, the couches and even the bed. They may be soft and cuddly or made of breakable stuff, but they still have that fluff. You just want to look at them, until you want to pat them, play with them, at least if no one else is around watching you, yeah, but i know you do, because me, I do it to. It is the simple and best solution for those, who cannot for a reason or another, have a real life furry feline at the house, which in most cases is such a louse. But that is just the way the world goes. So, go on, collect, shelf and play with as many as you may, they’re all harmless fun, especially when life is on the side of stun.
“The beach of the last resort, now but a faded memory at this point“ Gun Roswell
Faded Memories of a Beach
A faded image of the beach, I used to visit, summers ago, when everything was a go. Hop on a train or plane or even an automobile, to get the feel, of fake freedom for a few weeks. Still, whatever the time allotted might have been, it was important to be seen, as enjoying the time off, even if it might have caused, some monetary blocks and maybe a few scoffs of where to finally go. Still, it was better than hanging around the house, that old louse, as chores from the year past had piled up, and sorting all that up was no fun at all. So, to stall, once again and completely ignore the mess left behind, taking off to new vistas out there, was only a fair reward for the work done over the months am I right? So, after all the dust had settled from the wrestles of which way the heading should be, off to the airport with a minimal baggage the whole kit and caboodle was seen to be.
The place selected finally visible through the small windows of the vessel heading towards the landing sight, but there might have been a slight plight, as the whole run way was the length of the back home street. But, luckily, the pilot did the deed great and then soon enough without much of hesitate, heading towards the final lodging, where the two weeks of fun and frolicking under the sun, had begun. Before any unpacking was done, the beach was the first on the list, naturally, as back home, we had never even heard of such a thing. Water, sand? What on earth was that? So, getting geared up, with some huff and puff, soon enough landing on the perfect spot, like so many others had done, but hey, there was plenty of room, so scoot, over there, close to the waters edge.
After some adjusting, with the pale skin and hot sun, the day was getting towards the fun and some. Each and every day, despite the lack of whole lot of other activities, except those found there on the beach, was spent with gusto as it was part of the must, after all this was the time off and nothing like this could be done back home. So, before anyone even realised, two weeks had passed and it was time to head home. Naturally, there were so many photos snapped during the stay, some of them clear throwaways, but alas, some gems remained. And those are the ones, each time during the lack of fun, here at home, are looks upon. Reminders of fond times, when we all managed to smile, at least, most of them time.
“In the middle of the small city, it can get quite giddy, not knowing where to go, and just wanting to talk it slow, then ride a tram!“ Gun Roswell
Ride a Tram along the Shopping Street
When travelling, you always want to see everything, at least the important sights, the monuments, bars and restaurants and if there is time, or then you simply make it, shopping for the local produce. But all these activities, are draining at best, even if you try to keep up with the rest, the fatigue sets in, at some point and not even the most strongest of coffees, will be able to keep you on your feet. So, before you want to hit those busy streets again, maybe, have a break and then, try some other mode of transport, rather than torturing those feet now sore. The answer is right there in front of you, as maybe you had made a not of those rails all over the place. Well, you are in luck and those are actually in use by the tram running on them. Do take a hint of my long drawn suggestion and take a ride on the bus on rails or tram without wheels and enjoy a less stress filled trip around the city, checking out all sights you might not otherwise have the time to see. Only, you will never need to leave your seat! How cool is that?
“Some travel memories, you’ll never forget, those spent by the calming blue seas“ Gun Roswell
A day of leisure by the seashore
The day filled with sunshine, ever since dawn, skies so blue, painted in several hues, hanging above the seas for eternity, the few fluffy clouds making some change to the otherwise blue canvas, but I am not laying the blame as Mother Nature did a great job again today. It’s a picture perfect scene at best, and I may be adding my own little memory twist here, but those random images found in the desk, were totally taking me back to a time, when mostly, the world was just fine and taking a holiday to a faraway land so different from your own, was something of the divine. And nothing could wipe out that big smile off of my face, while staying in that place.
But, the most important thing of this epiphany is, that I usually am at my most happiest, while staying by the sea, the ocean, even a lake, or maybe, a small pond. Water, being the operative word here, the calming balm created by nature for your pleasure. I love to swim, or then, simply to sit on the shore and stare at the waves without much of a bore, until the setting sun, is giving me a spectacle worth the wait, not to leave with the rest of them after a day spent on the sandy beach. No, not me, as I plan to spend the whole night, watching the stars so bright, enjoying it all to the fullest, after all, rest of the life might be at its dullest, but as I look at the pictures, my mind takes the trip, back onto that sunny beach. And who knows, maybe I will be back there next year!
“The gorgeous landscapes of the Earth I so love, as I view them from above, on an airplane wing, where I sit, in silence and awe“ Gun Roswell
Land Ahoy!
Sitting, on the wing, of a vessel, steering gently across the clouds, which softly shroud the skies above the lands, of this planet we call Earth. This was the so-called birth, of my adventure to seek out, the perfect spot, where I could lay claim, as the aim, was to build, a small lodge, where I could dwell. At least, that was the plan and the best reason for this expedition. Then again, I love watching the skies, not matter where I dwell or lie, so all and all, even if I would never find that perfect spot, or finding too many of them, which would most likely be the dent, in my whole plan. So, as I sit and the lands scan, with my eyes, open wide, I am sold of the landscapes so totally bold, captivating my heart and soul that whatever the place is in front of me, I am total sold, of the beauty of it all and content to just sit and admire, the only desire, to never land as this is the perfect spot, sitting up here on the wing, and looking down in utter admiration, never getting bored.
“Going fishing today, after all, it’s a free day, or Friday, what ever you want to call it, I am outta here!” Gun Roswell
Harbour Life
Today is the day, when I am getting myself a life, living that is, instead of existing, or at least, that is the grand plan! To be honest, this has been the plan for the past year or so, to get out my fishing gear and simply, just go, to get out there, and have some fun. Granted, fishing might not be a top choice, or even a good choice, but it would be the once for me today, as it was the last of the working days and I needed to get out of the house. And, as there was a nearby fishing village, with small boats to rend kind of cheep-ish, I knew what I was going to do on my one day off. Getting my gear together, I was soon out the door, and even if there was not going to be a big fishy score, the point was to just get out there to the shore, hop inside a dingy, and row, row, row out there, spending a day without care.
So, after a short peddle on my bike, towards the harbour now in sight, I stepped off and went to the shore, to get me some lures, the wormy kind at that, as I wanted to go all retro to the bat. Next step, was to get some snacks, as no day would be perfect without the editable as I wasn’t counting on the fish to bite. Besides, I could not very well eat them raw, sushi never being a favourite so what ever catch would have to be properly prepared, stirred, fried and what ever it took. Next step was then to rent the vessel, a small one with a miniature motor, and good looking oars, as today, was all about them chores. After the deal, was sealed, I was finally able to set sail, or rather take the paddles to my hands, and start my venture off land. What better way, to spend a free Friday!
Spending all day long, on the lulling waves just outside the shore, not daring to be too adventurous, after all, the tiny ship was hardly able to compete with the ships tall. And when the sun started setting, I was off the hooks getting, with a few fish as a reward, most likely a dinner for tomorrow. It was time to head back home, this time using the motor as my arms were sore, all day long spent fishing, so guess that was to be expected, which was fine, I dejected as they would be worse tomorrow, after so much exercise, but hey, I wanted to live the life, so here I was, a fishing person, heading to shore after a long day spent on the waters edge, but hey, I had scored, fish being my reward of the day!
“Seated in a hideout, in the calming shadows, away from the scorching sun. That is part of the holiday fun” Gun Roswell
A seat in a shadowy hideout
The day had been quite long with the sun shining pretty strong. Luckily, the weary traveler had found the perfect of spots to make a pit stop, a perfect one, to take some load off, the tired old feet while taking a comfy seat. It was the perfect hideaway, from the busy streets of the day, in a cool and calming shadowy place, planning there for a few moments to stay.
Without any kind of hurry on display, the traveler decided to have a moment for themselves. To enjoy a light meal, as hunger had made its feel. After all, strolling back and forth, was causing a lot of energy to be used so now, it was the best time some fuel for the body to consume.
After a somewhat lengthy break, seated in the shadows away from the sun, it was time again to get up and about, have a few more looks around and see what there was to be found. And then later on come back to this wonderful and relaxing place for some food and drinks, as this was the best one to think of to load off.
