The colours of autumn in Suburbia

“The colours so vibrant it hurts the onlookers head, well, sometimes, but hey, just enjoy them for now as snow will fall soon enough!“ Gun Roswell

The colours of autumn in Suburbia

Suburbia coming to life with these colours being ever so bright.

Never mind, the pouring rain, the plain and same ole colour of grey, the dominant for this season, at least where the skies are concerned.

Glance around, prance even if this is the time you have found to do so.

As this flow of nature, is at its very end, almost reaching the winter season, and then it is time to spend indoors, hoping the walls and floors will keep you warm!

Seated in the shade on a sunny day

“Sitting in the cooling shade, even if I’m going to be late, from Sunday” Gun Roswell

Seated in the shade on a sunny day

The sunshine on a Sunday is always great, but then again, when it gets too hot, then it’s no longer so, and the best place to rest, or at least have a respite, is under the shade on a seat made for that special place. And so, the whole day, might just be well spent, seated under the protective shade avoiding all movement at all, but mostly, avoiding the brightly lit sun and the encompassing heat, and ain’t that simply neat.

But if such a seat might not be found, anywhere even if looking around and everywhere, there is still no scare as daring, into the sunny outside, can also be very nice, at least for a short while, until the heat starts to defeat one and that will soon be 5he end of fun, and the option remaining is to simply run and to quickly find, a spot outside of the sunny shine, preferably in a shady spot, well, then the day would continue smoothly once again, and the rest of the day could be spent, in the calming shade.

The bridge and the tower at nightfall

Helsinki, Finland

“The nightly crossing over the bridge, will you to a bell tower lead, the road ahead well lit, so you won’t trip!“ Gun Roswell

The bridge and the tower at nightfall

The bridge over the murky waters, the sun long since set, the last remnants of the rays glowing red, hanging low over the nightly skies

The trouble here lies as over the bridge the need to trot, to get to the other side, where the place one calls home, resides

And so, with a heavy heart and a sigh, the task at hand starts, as there is no try, only the effort, of getting home, safe and sound

The noises of the nightly life loud, but luckily, the lights are on, even if far in between them all, they still give a hint, where to trot, and never step across, and end up in the deadly cold waters

Running never an option, the slip and slide easily stopping, the trip halting, coming to a dead end, literally, and so, choosing each step carefully, when headed toward the goal

Soon enough, the bridge has been crossed, the bell tower in sight, and what a pretty one it is in all its might, the home of the nightly wanderer dead ahead

Helsinki, Finland

Sunset most red

Rhodes, Greece

“Ah, the setting sun, what fun! The most cliched happening of them all, mostly photographed, admired and no wonder, as it is simply gorge!” Gun Roswell

Sunset most red

The sun is setting, against the ocean it is letting, itself fall into deep, deep slumber, dreaming of wonders, as it lies in the great yonder, dreaming of stars and the moon, before it is time for another round, the sun to rise again, to shine beyond them all, brightly in the early morning hours, just after the rain showers of the darkened night, and then only can it shine, like nobody would mind at all.

The breaking waves

Cyprus

“The waters are calm today, only gently breaking against the rocky shores, like being no great chore at all” Gun Roswell

The breaking waves

The waters edge, the place where the waves and the land meet, the shores of beyond the rocky terrain, where few feet have trudged, because getting there is hard and difficult, often impossible.

But those who dare, can not stand and stare, after having reached, the sandy beach, and then in awe admire of their perfect score, as the views are not short of magnificent, but time there watching, observing spent short, as the storm will soon be upon and the sandy shores travelled upon will be gone, sunken by the roaring waves to the beyond.

Dame Angela Lansbury in Memoriam

“Here I am, I still go on, you know, like the tides” Angela Lansbury

Dame Angela Lansbury in Memoriam

Those big baby blues

Changing their hues

The smile always wide

Never ever, getting tired

Playing whatever part

Given, taken, always smart

Singing, dancing

Sometimes, even romancing

The talent is here forever

Into our hearts tethered

The name never forgotten

Dame Angela Lansbury

We are all still so smitten

The Dame is dead,

But, we still hail,

Long live, our Dame!

Some kind of window view (from the past)

Seurasaari, Helsinki

“Take a peek through the ole looking glass and tell me what you see” Gun Roswell

Some kind of window view (from the past)

The view from a window, found somewhere in the midst of a travelling on the low, in an old school village, built by some ancestral people settling there before time itself was founded, well, at least so many years ago, cannot even make the count, but it does not matter, as this was all someone’s home and now, a treasure trove for us, so called modern people.

But, as you take a seat inside the shadowy home, the darkness the main event, no matter if the sun is still shining, the window sill beckoning, to take a peek to the outside, finding no people, no streets, only calming vistas, the homestead from a long ago, peaceful.

Staring through the looking glass, visions from the past emerge, the children playing, the animals roaming without restraints, simple life, simple times, it was all back then, the sense of family and belonging, across the times spent, at least in the imagination of the onlooker.
