Sighting Hill

“There is a lot of activity up them tall hills, be that from this planet here or maybe from somewhere else, who knows, but still quite interested in finding that out am I, so guess, it’s time to fly or hike, up that slippery slope of a hill” Gun Roswell

Sighting Hill

The hill up ahead, strong and bold, standing tall, right there in front of us, weary travellers, watching in awe as the stories told, coming alive right in front of us. The tales of myths recited of others coming to this place, some of them like us, some more exotic and from far away places. But whatever the case or rather the truth behind all the colourful tales told, most of us here now standing below, were already sold at well, at “this is an odd tale” kind of a pitch. So, taking a hike towards this gorgeous rock we, the adventurers never intend to stop, until reaching that very top and finding out for our very selves, whether these storied told are as true as those who did the sales. Soon enough, climbing up the very rocky face of the tall, tall hill, trying to reach the perfect spot to observe and take in, all the sights below and those, shown also from above, the skies, the space and all of it out there, which ever way eyes can see and ears can hear, all of it in front of us and then, maybe, if we are lucky, we will get to meet those other travellers, from the very beyond, and exchange stories of the Sighting Hill.

An Uphill Battle This Is!

First you’re up then you’re down” Gun Roswell

An uphill battle this is!

Up the steep hill struggling
My feet sliding on the slippery stones
Trying hard not to fall

Ancient ruins beckoning to be
Checked, have to reach the top or
It is a total flop

Breathing is heavy, so loud
The local fauna wondered what the hell
Is this ruckus all about

They all gathered to stare
As further up I climbed the stairs
Until finally I was there

Tuesdays keep on coming, well once a week anyway!

It’s another day of the week, naturally!” Gun Roswell

Tuesdays keep on coming, well once a week anyway!

The days come along one by one (usually the way they do)
It’s almost like singing a song (verse by verse moving along)
Today it’s Tuesday, when only yesterday it was Sunday (that’s how I recall it)
And now, it’s getting late, no matter how I hesitate, tomorrow will be here, I can feel it near (What do you know: It’s Wednesday and midweek, what a geek!)

Guess I need to stop worrying about Mondays anyway (Oh, did you worry before? Did not know that…)
Since the days keep on changing without my aid (Yeah, need a time machine for that!)
Why worry about some day, when there is always the next day (True, do like the Spanish do, manana!)
So, on this day of …ahem, Tuesday, I swear, not to worry about another damned day!!! (Liar! You know this promise or what ever is as good as the up and down going fever! You will never keep it, trust me, I know shit!)

Bring it on Tuesday, Wednesday and even Friday (Don’t forget Monday and something else!)
Every day, from this day on is my day (note to writer, how many times can you get away with the word “day”?)
I will start appreciating the here and now (Yeah, really! Like to see that)
And then, if not, nobody have a cow! (We already did! It’s there in the backyard!)

Black Car from the beyond

“If you want to drive a car, any car, which may or may not got very far? Well, better then to choose the classic one, as it really can be lots of fun!“ Gun Roswell

Black Car from the beyond

Go and get out there, into the busy streets and do so, in the utmost style, maybe even adorned with a huge big of a smile, because it has been quiet the while, since any kind of vehicle, let alone something so grandiose, has come up your way. And so, this big car of a thing, from the way, way past of ours was brought back from it’s rusty grave and now, it too can sing, at least, if you consider the roaring engine sounds a song of gratitude, after having literally been reborn, as the outfitting and refurbishing now completely done and for this old beast of burden from the beyond, it is a new lease in life and what else is there to do, except to keep going on! And so, hopping on the ride so wide, it takes at least the whole lane of the street, but never mind, it’s all just fine as it is always a treat, to see the admiring peeps along the walkways when this hunk of old but golden metal hums along the streets of the modern world where it was hurled.

Autumn Vibes

“The crispness in the air and frozen puddles of the mornings, the changing colours of nature, yes, Fall has arrived once again“ Gun Roswell

Autumn Vibes

The harbour quiet and void of people, as the vessels of summer’s fun had been towed into the safety of the solemn docks, anticipating the changing of the seasons, as the cold air landed without too much of a reason, it was simply that time of the year.

The seagulls however did not seem to mind, flying their usual rounds, albeit there were no fishermen, either working or hobbyist returning from their trips, as all their ships, were permanently moored to the docks awaiting the upon coming winter time, when the waters freeze over and the snow starts to fall, after all, this is Autumn time, ie. Fall.

Feeling a tad on the off side as strolling down the piers empty now, the hustle and bustle of summer gone now, the silence descending on the place, at least until one more day of warmth hits the skies, a reminder of the time past, but just that one day of fun, before it will be gone, at least for a few months, when all this will be covered with snow and ice, until next summer.

A day by the seaside to smile

“A day or two by the seaside will make you brand new, that, is totally true, unless swallowed by a shark, har har😜” Gun Roswell

A day by the seaside to smile

The one day of the year, waking up to the knowledge, that I am finally answering the calling, of the  waters some times storming, often times calm. But no matter what the weather will be like, I am still going to set my sails high, on the land still, and walk that long path, until I reach the beach, the shores of the sea. As today is my special day out there to flee, all my troubles and worries and get lost out there, at the sea, well, at least, staying on the shore and watching the sea, because without a boat there is only so far you can be. So the sandy beach, is enough for me to reach, that feeling of the ocean waves, the calming effect I am only able to get, while at the waters edge. And so today, I will my insides slay and become one with nature, let go off all that hatred, and when back home at the end of the day retuning, the constant churning of the inside is gone and for the next year, I can be somewhat calm, until at least the very next storm (enter smirk).

Coffee made me so do it!

“Dark as night, sweet as sin? What is that I hear calling me? Coffee!” Gun Roswell

Coffee made me so do it!

Today I went off the edge
I didn’t even take a pledge
I pranced around like a Fred Astaire
The others looking with a stare
Laughing out very loud
And feeling extremely proud
An old tune from years ago
Nothing to stop the show
I started singing that tune
Not being any kind of prune
Why this happened you may ask
It wasn’t anything from a flask
Though I have one excuse to acquit
The Coffee made me do it!

The old cottage on the island lies

“Nostalgia, is the best word to describe these two dwellings“ Gun Roswell

The old cottage on the island lies

They are rusted and quite busted, neglected and rejected, those dwellings from the past, which no one thought would until this century last, but how wrong they were as those houses are still here, and will most likely be long after we are all gone, remaining strong.

They might not look like much, maybe needing a slight touch up, but once you get inside, you cannot help but smile, as despite the rough outlook of the houses, the insides are far from louse, but rather cozy and warm, keeping you safe and sound through any imaginable storm.

So, if ever in doubt, when wandering out there, on an island with none too much to share, at least not in looks and on the surface of it, barren by default, without a fault of its own, but of nature without much going on, the houses will still give you shelter without faltering.

Next time you may want to reconsider, judging a book or any other by just looking at the cover, don’t forget there is so much more beneath of the simple looks, and yes, it applies too so many other things as well than just books.

Fly far away

“If only I could fly away, like the birds do. At least, sometimes. Maybe I would even return? Maybe, if I felt like it.” Gun Roswell

Fly far away

The large size feathery bird at flight, no matter morning, noon, late day or even a very late night
Flapping its tall wings and then without any kind of word, towards the skies it softly swings
Taking to flight, with the might of the blowing winds and then disappearing into the clouds
Because that is where the bird is the most safe, almost as of covered in an invisible shroud
Wherever it does go, as it takes on the slow but guided route, without as much of a shout
Only the mighty bird knows, and it has not told even one soul of its plans, as it now stands
There is no way to follow, but even if the plans sound totally hollow, there is an agenda there
As on this blue sphere, the option of coming back to whence one came from is always there
So, if you are fond of watching where this bird will land, just remained quite still on the strand
And maybe, around and around the bird will fly and then in the end come by to the place it sent

Floating by in time

“Time flies when you are having fun and even if you are not, so there is that” Gun Roswell

Floating by in time

Time, is of the essence many say, time is going by so fast, they also claim and well, I have to agree to that sentiment, for you see, I have been sitting here, watching it pass me by, or in this case, floating by, in the form of a sailing boat, going oh so very slow.

It is a fun past time, time, yes, yes it’s that kind of a rhyme, but time is so much more than that, just the simply ticking off the clock, which I hope will never stop, even if it goes past me so quickly and that should make me feel sickly.

But, as it is, there is no use of fighting this thing called time, unless you have a degree in physics or a machine which will make you fly, backwards and forwards, whichever way you might want to experience, but if you get a chance to do it, it will certainly be different.

So, as I sit here, watching time itself, pass me gently by, I am kinda feeling fine, but hey, if I could turn back some of that time, well, guess I would?
