Caturday on Kos Island

“Are you looking at me?
You, looking, me?”

“Nah, I’m just resting here for a while
It’s cool, hope you don’t mind!”

“Well, as long as you remember,
You are in my turf now
So just move along before the clock hits September!”

Sleepy Cat, Sleepy Dog

“Like cats and dogs they say,
When the two mixed are at play”

Sleepy Cat, Sleepy Dog

Sleepy Kitty
Sleepy Doggy
Looking pretty
While feeling groggy
Outside soggy
Inside chilly
Better hide
Heads under covers glide
For today is not
For the outside

“Feeling hotter
Maybe much later
We’ll get up!”

Hiding myself

I feel shy today
Alone in this place
They made me stay

So just read my face
It’s clearly splayed
I won’t be swayed
To stay in this place
One more day!

Cat vs. Dog

“A cat fight or a dog day afternoon, I say put these two together, call it, a cat-dog fight afternoon, because that is what you sometimes get with these two in one place” Gun Roswell

Cat vs. Dog

The cat, sitting quite coolly, in the left side corner
Instead of boxing gloves, the sharp nails are out in order
Carefully watching the opponent on the far right
Knowing, anticipating, the beginning of a good fight

The dog, licking it’s paws, in the right side of the ring
Unaware, of the constant stare, of the opponent so daring
Taking it’s time, then, in one swift move of the chime
The dog clear’s it’s mind and is ready for the good fight

The two so different enteritis now sparring each other
Keeping an keen eye on the one, who could cause the trouble
Moving slowly around, close enough, but still no contact
The two of them, ready, for the good fight, but still, remaining untouched

Minutes pass, maybe even an hour, but the same thing still repeats
Neither of them will attach, but neither will either retreat
It goes on and on, both of them, trying to be the one so strong
But then, something happens, as if of the ring of the bell of the dong

The two of them jump up, in one synchronized move of dare
Their eyes glare, flare gone, only the sign remains that of scare
They glance around, now both of them in common ground
The will of the good fight, all but gone and a unified stance found

Staying alert, covering each others backs
The cat and dog, low on the ground duck
Nothing seen, so far all good, maybe presuming the good fight they should
But out of the blue, there is a new clue

The air now thick with anticipation
Both cat and dog have a sense of hesitation
Fight of flight, that is the question, until, a familiar sound:

“Bingo, Spot, come get your din din!”

Rushing towards the promised reward
The cat and dog, side by side, soar
Nothing but munching sounds of soften
It seems, the age old fight all forgotten

Sharing their food in complete content and utter silence
After all, what is the point of violence
When the keeper of the cat and dog so kindly
Will do their bidding, without even whining

Cats with Dogs

Cats with Dogs

Cats with Dogs
Put them in a box
What secrets untold
Before you unfold
When the box is opened
Only keep hoping
There is no other agenda
Are they friends or enemies
Or just plain frenemies
That is the age old dilemma
Of Cats with Dogs

The cat and the chair

“Caturday filled with cats, can’t argue with that” Gun Roswell

The cat and the chair

A cat, just came out of its own lair
An now, he is sitting, on someone else’s chair
Owning, everything, some may say, is not fair
But try to tell the cat that, and he’ll give you a really good scare

The cat, is the master
It will make you go faster
Than you had ever thought
Just to go get him some froth

Dare, at him for long enough to stare
You’ll find out, your eyes will forgo a big dare
Just accept, the fact, that you’re his property
And no one, has to walk away, angry

A cat litter

“A cat in the bag? Better to have a litter in the box!” Gun Roswell

A cat litter

Dear cat,

What beauty and grace you posses
How god like is your essence
Basking, in the bright light, your very existence

Alas

When the can opener is a rumbling
You come along, a tumbling
Knocking down all the nick-nacks
Pushing aside all them obstacles
Grace and beauty far gone behind
When come along galloping, the carpets entwined
Looking more and more
Like an old race horse on drugs
Or a drunken person running amok
Rather than any of my gods

And then, when there are more of you
Than just, well, one or a few
The household, is left in a total and utter mess
But, there is one thing, I must confess
I love you all, and want you here forever to stay
As I would not have things any other way!

Yours truly,
Hooman, keeper of the cats

Black Cat for Caturday

“The black cat crossed the road, at the traffic light” Gun Roswell

Black Cat

The familial of any self respecting witch
Witch, a female, with a black feline
Feline so agile, with a fur so sleek
Sleek as her movements you can hardly see
See when she turns up from simply out of nowhere
Nowhere like a dark flash of light
Light so dark, she’s almost invisible
Invisible against the black night
Night, as the time when the feline hunts
Hunts for pray, which better be aware
Aware if you are a rodent or other type of pest
Pest, vermin, which are eating all the crops
Crops which are important for the survival
Survival for us all, both human and animal
Animals such as cats the familial of the witches
Witches who take care of their pets
Pets, a cat, the black cat, may just be
Be, but sometimes, it can be something else
Else, other, something completely different
Different from the other, you will never see
See you just might, if you concentrate really hard
Hard and let your imagination run wild
Wile as the black cat does
Does when she wildly runs
Runs over the land and then comes
Comes back to her master the witch
Witch, where the familial only exists

Caturday Haiku

Sitting, waiting, angry, sad, feeling
Cat on the street, lonely, no feed
Please, take home, no-one alone
But then, some one come, and take me, along

Patrolling its territory large, no one denies
