The darkness soon descends

“The land, certainly not in good hands, with the permanent darkness descending upon, after all, this is the starting event, of the Polar Nights “ Gun Roswell

The totality of it all, the darkening skies, the feel almost of night, and the sun up, none too bright, almost gone, swallowed by the grey clouds.

The Polar Nights, as the dwellers up North called this, state, of sorts, the darkness descending, for months on end, all the way up until the year’s end.

There was nothing to do, except to accept the inevitable, stay indoors, have the lights on, and try to pretend, it was still day, even if looking out the window, would tell, quite the different story.

A day, then night

“The darkness follows the light, well, most of times, except up here in the North, during summer. Now winter, well, that is a whole different story!” Gun Roswell

Days thankfully long and filled with so much sunshine
That lazy me, can be splayed across the subbed ever so fine
The clouds above practically none existent and quite fluffy too
As there is nothing else to see above there except skies of blue
Well, maybe just another airplane landing bringing more of us
Whom are finally allowed to take a vacation on this same spot
Where the days meet the night, without any kind of fight
Where nothing is done except leisure just for the sake of pleasure
The long days, and short nights, spent, lazily under the sun
Or those with courage, hauling their asses to the beach
Where all kinds of waterspouts is just in a short reach
Describing this time out of the every day grind as everything fun
Hell yeah, day or night, it just is so unexpected but totally right
When there is little or nothing else to do around the poolside
Except spend it on yourself and those you care for in life

Behind the shadows, light peeks

“The light will always prevail, no matter how dark it may just seem now.” Gun Roswell

Behind the shadows, light peeks

The darkness descended all over the land, the time of year, someone retorted, but there was nothing better at hand, part from some artificial lights shining the way, even if it was in the middle of the day, as this phenomena was there for a while to stay.

But, there was really nowhere to stray, the path still clear, no matter night or day, the only difference, was the total darkness, having taken a hold of the northern part of the blue globe, aptly named, as Polar Nights, there was no manner of fight, to prevent it them from happening.

Having gotten used to this, seasonal trade, as in turn been given practically nightless nights in the middle of the summer times, for several months on end, only the light would there play, but now as it as late in the year, the seasonal celebration neat, the darkness was the one true constant.

And so, moving forward, day by day, as if slaves to the rhythm, apathy and frowns, taking over the once proud and smiling dwellers, like they were inside of a spell, but knowing this was only temporary, they moved on, out of spite to last over this, prolonged night, as light, would in the end prevail.

Dark Horizon

“The night skies are turning darker and darker, but some of the light still remains, acting as a beacon marker, for those of us still wandering home” Gun Roswell

Dark Horizon

The moon is arising in the darkness, out there in the horizon, but before it can emerge, some of the remaining light of the day, still lingers longer than it should, but it knew it would because there are still those, who are trapped there, not able to steer, in the total darkness of the night, so this lonesome light, will remain to shine upon the path for them, rather than condemn these souls to falter from their way.

And for all those who may be in the same need, in the future this same deed, will be done, as the sworn duty of this ray of light, is to protect all the passengers on their way to their safe place, no matter how dark the horizon will get, there will always be a brief light to guide. So, whenever you decide to remain out there, past the daylight near, you can rely on the constant of the universe, the light in the night sky, to be there for you and lead you home.

Thick blues and clouds in the night sky

“The night sky, relentless to turn into darkness, keeping the blue hues of the day” Gun Roswell

Thick blues and clouds in the night sky

When the night time falls, there is a brief moment, where time stalls, the surroundings getting a moment of a different colour from that of the day and the night. It can be in a chosen shade and today, it is a tad of the darker side of the spectrum. The Blue Moment, as it is most commonly known for those dwellers, who cannot wait to experience it at the break of night, when there is no more room for anything more work or fight, it’s just the time of rest, but the best part is this special show up in the evening skies, before the moon and stars come out. Despite the thick coverage of clouds, grey or white during the daylight hours, now, all of them painted in the same shade of blue as is the rest of the nature, all the elements, even the waters and nature, covered in the same blanket of deep blue. And then before the onlookers even realise, the night has fallen and the blues are almost gone. But the pale of the moonlight, will continue with the same shade for a while longer, until the it will all get darkest at night.

Dark Liquid fell on to the Dark Ground

“Rain fall, during the Autumn months? Simply so, because of its namesake, the Fall” Gun Roswell

Dark Liquid fell on to the Dark Ground

Still and dark water, lay in perfect silence, on the hardest of grounds
It was there, simply for the one single reason; the dark cloud, let it fall down
Searching, hard, everywhere, and all around, for any kind of lighter shroud
Alas, the all saving light, was no where to be found

Light after the polar night

“There is always light at the end of the polar night” Gun Roswell

Light after the polar night

When, the total darkness descends
You’ll only thought, that there is no end
To the utter sad and soggy surrounding greyness
And, what ever happens during this time, you simply exist
The living reduced to much of a zombie like state
The cheerfulness gone, remaining only hate
For the light is completely gone
The sun and the moon, somewhere long
The cold weather a constant companion
But, there is no struggle left, as you learn to live with it
Calling it, pathetic, or a trait of the Nordic
Then, a flicker of hope, as a ray through it all pokes
The light, none too bright, but still, illiciting, a big smile
For a moment it stays, but leaving something in its wake
Maybe, there is light at the end of a long polar night, after all

Noir

“Feeling the darkness within me” Gun Roswell

Noir

The darkness slowly settling in
Like the black feelings within
No sun no moon, no stars
Nothing seen but those endless scars
You might say it’s due to this, special season
But telling that lie would constitute as treason

Compared to this blue ain’t such a bad colour after all
Because, even frozen snowballs, get the blues, in hues
And then, throw in some grey and they’ll throw back some shade,
This certainly ain’t no drive in any slay in any parade
For now, let’s just keep the mood and lips in a frown
Just because, there is this great big excuse, of darkness

But I digress, since life, is always such a big mess
Anyway, so why not embrace, the noir inside and outside, less
Light, can make anything look really good
And I ain’t just talking about food!
If the oddest thing would happen; a spring with colours slapping
In all kinds of mixed odours, then I’ll be prepared

Kinda, but still wearing the noir, backed up by a choir!

It’s just a shadow
A faded memory
