Seated in blue

“The perfect moment of the day for a respite in blue, on the chair that is“ Gun Roswell

Seated in blue

When the day, working or otherwise is finally done, it is time to have a brief breather, a break. A divider from the planned chores and the hassle of it all, to the quite and calm of the evening, for just a moment doing something completely different and out of the character maybe just acting on a feeling.

The venture to the hidden corners of the streets, into the alleyways deep, and find that small and unmanned spot, where nothing is perfect and just a little off. The cantina only open for a two or more hours and known only by a few patrons, inviting and mostly quite, painted all in the calming and cool blue hues.

This place where invitations are scarce and valid for the limited time, but that is just fine as the time spent there is totally divine. Why? Well, you will know when you get the invitation, use it without hesitation and find out for yourself what it really feels like to be seated in the coolest of joints, in the calming of blue.

Peeking into a paradise, of sorts

“When you finally get to glimpse to the paradise you have so long dreamed of, well, it might not be exactly what you thought it would be, or maybe, it is?” Gun Roswell

Peeking into a paradise, of sorts

The curtain slowly rising from the spot I was doing my spying from, into the one place I was promised to have a glimpse of, the very specific place someone else might call, a paradise, eden, or any other kind of endearing name. But whatever you might call it, it is the very one you may want, your eternity to spend in. And once you find it, you may never want to leave the place, even if you were promised only to have a quick glance, a peek of what might be waiting for you, once the journey you are now on, is completed.

So, why not enter that place right now you may ask? Well, as we all know, nothing is meant to last, not the path we are on and maybe not even the end goal. So, for now, maybe it is enough, to get that one small glimpse into the future which might be there waiting, before you can go back to the daily life you are living until it is time to get inside that promised paradise. So, do put on that smile, as even if it takes a while, you still have a place in the so called paradise you seek.

The beach blues

“There is nothing worse than getting the blues when on the beach, or is that really bad?” Gun Roswell

The beach blues

Blues skies, blue waters, blue mountains covered in blue haze, blue parasols for the shade and beach towels to lay on, with blue boats gently lulling on the blue waves. There is nothing else to be seen for miles on end, at the beach where the blue hues are the dominant colour of the day. But hey, it could be worse as singing the blues on a street corner because you could not access the calming blue waters, well, that is something to sing about. But for now, the only song to be sung, is the praise of this blue place of fun, where the only other colour found, is the beige sand laid out on the ground. The midst of the summer, nothing can be a total bummer, even if all this blue up and till the horizon where a blue moon at night will be rising, will be the cause of the blues with all of the views? Alas, it is all the good kind which will make you smile as you have totally caught, the beach blues.

Calm sailing

“Sailing across the blue waves of the river blue under the skies of calming blues, until the night hues” Gun Roswell

Calm sailing

When quickly dashing, over the railing, there is no room for failing, as I am going to be sailing, so very far away.

As today is that very day of totally smooth weather, so I am finally cutting the tether for good and skipping this town, at least for now.

But without any frowns on my face, as this place, was nice for a while, but it lost its smile so moving along, is my feeling strong.

It was fun of course while it lasted, but the time is not to be wasted and all the adventures out there are waiting for me, so without any hesitation I am off.

To the end of the world and beyond I am sailing, no matter the weather as there will be a safe haven, for the storms shaking this boat so small.

Waking my final goodbyes, to all those I knew and maybe loved, but no regrets are in my mind, only the possibilities of whatever new things I can find out there, over the horizon and the stratosphere.

Beach life on a lazy day

“The sand warm, on a lazy day under the sun strong” Gun Roswell

Beach life on a lazy day

Sunny day on a beach somewhere, without one single worry or a care, feeling lazy and unmoving, but that’s fine, as I wasn’t trying to be fooling anyone or myself, as this day was already promised for the hazy kind of doing without fooling around on this neat place found.

Not working, not thinking, not giving a moment more to anything else, except to looking and listening to the calming waves, hitting gently the sandy seashore, and watching them for long, was never a bore, and definitely no chore at all, only pleasure nonstop as being off the slaving clock for once.

So, spending all day long, even possibly until the very early hours of the next dawn, on this beach of lore, dancing and singing songs, in praise of the time of summer, where the weather is so much warmer that clothing is optional, and none too controversial if wanting to be totally naked.

Or then putting on a string of cloth reminiscent of a cover of sorts, whatever was the best choice as nobody was judging, not today, on the sandy beach, totally out of reach for most, but not those daring adventurers who had found the hidden place and now spending their lazy days, under the shining sun.

Sun, like in Sunday

“Something about Sunday that makes me calm” Gun Roswell

Sun, like in Sunday

The early morning with its light
Peeks through my covered window
The time is still before everyone is to rise
And everything in this house is totally quite

There is no hurry for anything yet
The only thing to do is to reflect
The weeks which is coming to and end
As I lay here on my comfortable bed

Soon another day and week will take over
But this, today, this Sunday still has the power
Of keeping me and myself in the moment
For a fee hours before it is time to let

The new day, with new things, begin
And the circle thus once again, complete

Caturday on the island of Kos

“Are you looking at me?
You, looking, me?”

“Nah, I’m just resting here for a while
It’s cool, hope you don’t mind!”

“Well, as long as you remember,
You are in my turf now
So just move along before the clock hits September!”

Finding Shade

“There is nothing wrong with a little bit of shade” Gun Roswell

Finding Shade

The sunny rays, seemed to be so totally hazed, when looking out the window, in the early morning hours. Alas, when venturing to the beach, it seemed, that the heat, had risen to a hundred degrees. The formerly calm and cooling summer winds, did not want me to start to sing as the sweaty stains and the smell of burning skin was making it difficult to concentrate on anything except finding a place as quickly as possible to sit and then without any time to hesitate, plunge into the waves simply to get away from the scorching heat and admitting defeat. Sun, you had won again!

But there was a sliver of hope in this adventure of the day, as much to a surprise, I spied a remote location in a good disposition. A solemn parasol, discarded, maybe, who knows. But deciding to find it out, trekking towards the one that I knew was without a doubt, going to save me from the heat and give me a place, in the cool and calming shade. As I closed in on it, I found out the reason for discarding it. It was a rickety looking old school bamboo kind of a construct, but hey, as it cast a shadow onto the sand, I was sold and made my stand, under the one place, I had found my very own shade for today.

Finding relief in the midst of summer’s heat

“There is nothing wrong with a little bit of fun in the sun, until it gets really too hot!” Gun Roswell

Finding relief in the midst of summer’s heat

The day too hot and running sweaty, inside trying not to let it in, but the humidity sweeps through the cracks on the walls, which were supposed to stand tall for an eternity or more. Still, the heat and the sun seem to find their way, no matter what. Simply no respite from this kind of a torment to be found not even if sitting on the cold concrete ground. The only choice, to go outside, for some cool and calming breezes to try to find. Well, that would be the ultimate winning price am I right?!

When out the door, the wall of hotness hits in the face and slams you back against the floor. The smells of flowers, trees and other summery fields all forgotten, as the stinky odours of the hot and humid weather front greets you there. The only hope for some relief, is to try to get down to the beach, where the waves are bringing in, the cool summer winds, near by the water’s edge, where sitting on the ledge and letting the fine summer winds embrace you until the skin, has cooled down and then maybe, that seemingly permanent frown, will turn upside down.

Dive in to the water!

“It’s inviting, it’s totally cool, it’s calming and it’s wonderfully blue, the water that is” Gun Roswell

Dive in to the water!

The cool and calming waters inside the pool filled to the very hilt, so much so, that the axis could so easily tilt, when another element was introduced, into the most gorgeous colours of turquoise and various blues.

The body quite agile soon enough jumping in, making in the process a whirlwind of waves to begin, swooshing out and all over and then towards the edges, even crossing to the allowed ledges, raising damp havoc in its wake.

But even the seemingly disastrous catastrophe is faced with loud laughter as after the dive, all the waters rescinded back to the very place they came from. The shapely bucket of a pool, after the performance of a somewhat fool, is once again turning back to its formal state, of a cool and calm surface.

A few strokes taken inside the pool, hardly even disturbing the rule of the water staying put. The human form slowly gliding, as the softness of the liquid is guiding, alongside the warm winds gently lulling, the swimmer now floating gently, into a woken slumber.
