No email today?

“Am I missing out on something very important here?” Gun Roswell

No email today?

The empty box, stating in bold letters “No mail”
No, this can’t be right, do checking once again

“Refresh, refresh, refresh! One more time, refresh!”
Hitting on that circular arrowy button one ore more times more, I confess

But I still get the same defiant message
It’s taunting me to the point of depression

Checking the internet connection, maybe that is the reason
Bringing up the program, watching the speed catching on

A hundred, then two, then more, bringing up the total score
The power, the speed, the search engines, all of it aboveboard

No definitely there is nothing on the side of the World Wide Web wrong
As this invisible connection is definitely very stable and oh so strong

Glaring at the screen, particularly the so called postal box of the internet
Where the electronically delivered communiques usually arrive without get

But it seems, that not for me, not today at least, there will be no sliver
Of any kind of news, any hellos, not one single offer, nothing of sorts, delivered

Am I missing out on something very important?
Am I on the block list for some reason I should not?

The fear strikes then, that of the lack of all that is out there
As the whys nobody anything with me wants to share

Pure torture this is, because I am fearing the worst of sort
That I am no longer liked, as I keep on staring at the blank box

Refresh button forgotten, as I might as well be the misbegotten
Falling into darkness, I fear I have become one of the important less

Almost loosing my mind, the mantra ongoing, “Why oh why?!”
And the the familiar sound of the ding, sounds out from the machine

As I dare to look, I feel the powerful feeling all over and every nook
Of me starts doing a small dance as I am reading, “you have new mail”

Coffee close-up

“There is just something about coffee, the looks and feel of it, it’s just, well, great!” Gun Roswell

Coffee close-up

The freshly poured coffee in the cup, the aroma swirling mid air, and the powerful smells reaching my nose as I needed my dose. This was not fair as there was a note on the side of it, stating in read and bold letters; “Do not touch!”

But it kept in taunting me, why oh why was someone doing this to me!? Why was I not allowed to touch that one thing, which made my hearts sing and wanting to dance and prance and shout out loud about after first sting?

Who on Earth could have done such a terrible deed to this coffee addict of a creep like myself who could never function properly, without my daily fix of the most finest invention of all time. That one and only thing making me smile after a cup or few in the early morning hours?

I stood there, unbelieving for a moment longer than I should. Lingering, hovering over the sweet sweet juice I had been denied and that it when I did decide. No matter what, nobody could stand between me and my coffee. After a quick glance to each direction, I grabbed the cup, took a sip and another and then, I felt like me again.

I waited for someone to turn up with a huff and a puff. Alas, no one did and then I remembered a blurry hazy state I had been in during the night and the warning made much more sense now. It was me, myself who had wandered off in the middle of the night and written those horrible words. As to the why I was still uncertain, but boy, had I been off!

Tossing the note aside, I kept on slurping my reward oh so fine.

Sunshine on a Mundane Day

Look, who decided finally to show up
And for a while there I was starting
To get all upset and wound up!

Then quickly, I am up from the tub
Grabbing a hold of my favourite cup
And then towards the outside,
With a set of a few huffs and puffs
I dare to go
And yeah, none too slow!

Just before, that is,
My all time favourite show
On the television, is up!
As the sun decided to turn up
Way too late of the day
Much to all those waiting
And now complaining!

But hey, it’s Monday
So what did you expect!?

Out of order for now!

Out of order for now!

Dear WordPress friends and readers,

My blog is currently on the fritz and rolled back to 14th of April 2020.

You see, I made a request to change my plan for the site and it was supposed to be a two hour job. However, they found a bug there (and not the several legged crawling kind one either). From where it came from I have no idea as I have not changed anything on my blog for years (admitting guilty for being lazy in that aspect) except the plan by clicking choices to boxes on the ordering page and paying for it (monetary currency so far). But now, it has been over a day since the support request was opened and so far, the site is on hold as they told me not to post anything meanwhile. But I wanted you all to know the situation as I have no idea when this will all be fixed. They have assured me that the posts are safe and I have my own back-ups of course. But all this delay seems such a wasted opportunity to me and not to mention loosing my “Streak” 😉 I can only hope this will be solved ASAP, but working in IT myself I find it odd that the paying customer has to suffer for this and keep asking the important question of “when?” constantly.

Well, this is life and it goes on even with small glitches such as this.
Today I got my first corona shot so I am happy for that at least😀

Meanwhile I will follow your stories and keep writing my own every day even if I cannot post them.

Keep on writing and most of all, keep on blogging no matter what!!!

With Best Regards,
Gun

A seat in the backyard

“Seated on a bench in the backyard, feeling quite smart as I’m not working my ass off on this fine day” Gun Roswell

A seat in the backyard

A relatively warm and lazy day, there ahead of me with much of that promised sunshine on display
Finding that perfectly placed and comfortable seat, but certainly not in any of the busy streets
Rather the best one of them all, right here in my own backyard where I had it just installed
Taking with my favourite book alongside some frizzy and cold drinks to the comfortable nook
I will be perfectly set for at least half of the day, even if the baddest weather would get in my way
You see I have this changing climate all figured out, as I got myself a nice sheltering parasol
To keep the heated sunny rays of the shining sol off me, but also any kind of rainy bouts out
So, on this Sunday, nothing will cause me upset or dismay., as I am as prepared as any old scout
And will take my leisure time without any kind of doubt, maybe even something reading out loud
Guess this will be the best kind of day, where reading is the task instead of over a hot oven to slay

Cats of the world (or rulers of said place, which ever way you want to look at it)

“Cats are great, cats are fun, cats are playing under the shining sun” Gun Roswell

Cats of the world (or rulers of said place, which ever way you want to look at it)

The cats will cheer you up, no matter what and how much you can and will huff and puff
Watch them at play, with the stupidest object imaginable, a scrap of paper perhaps
The game going on and on and on, until that very moment, the cats get tired of the thing
But then, they will most certainly start to sing, if not even one present for them did you bring
And that concert of very loud meows will last until the small kitties get their deserver chow
So, better get that handy, what ever kind of cat candy you will them cuddly, fluffy cats serve
As you are that one time special person, the felines will want to keep for now at least, around
That is, until something better comes along at least, that is their ongoing pun, am I right?!

Older and definitely wider (never wiser)

“Older and wiser! My ass! I think older and wider is more apt, literally, just look at it!” Gun Roswell

Older and definitely wider (never wiser)

Each and every morning I am going through the exact same boring routine
As I observe myself from the bathroom mirror, the image worse each day to be seen
All the smile caused wrinkles and here I am placing the sarcastic pair of air quotes
Well, the could be quite distinguished and simply more than fine
But it’s the other parts, which bother more as you see they are getting more and more wide
Except, well, the smile, which gets more narrow to the point of a beak of a sparrow
Smaller and duller and not like those other mentioned places, which are getting fuller and fuller
The old adage, some people still dare to say, that of getting wisdom with age?
Only it is a total sham and worse of it all is, that it came with cans of spam!
And of course I dared myself and ate the whole huge damned lot
So now I am neither the winner of the pot and I think I likely ran out of luck
As I am getting much older now, only not as I had hoped, the kind of wiser
But definitely with each and every passing day, I will be the more wider!

Ready to set sail for the free day?

“It’s always good to get to the seaside for a boat ride, no matter what size it might just be“ Gun Roswell

Ready to set sail for the free day?

As the weekend finally begins, it is also the time for the heart to sing, not just because it is the end of the working week once again, but also because this means, setting trail for the seaside and then it is only a matter of time to hoist the sails and steer the boat towards the setting sun, or at least that will follow later, as the early morning haters, are now up and about, giving the passersby a shout of joy, as thus, the free time has begun and if lucky enough, the time of fun also begins. It’s not all just fun and games, a lot of work will be involved while being on board, but whatever needs to be done, sure beats the homey chores. And if the weather remains on our side, then the limit is the ocean wide and the open skies, and in my book, that is simply fine. Then after a while of sailing, a break is needed for the reeling. Time for eating, swimming and simply being, alive and well, inhaling the smells of the sea. Then off again, to some more time on the waters spend. If the choice was there, sailing to the world end, would be something, on the agenda, but for now, a quick three days dash, will clear up the itching rash, figuratively as the need for the sea, is always present when stuck on land. So, enjoying this time while we can, and that is really all we can ask.

The secret on the other side of the window

“There are secrets behind all windows, dare to peek inside?” Gun Roswell

The secret on the other side of the window

The split glass window on the mysterious looking wall
Was inviting passersby curious enough to explore
To take a long peek of what might lie behind the sleek
And small size but still perfectly cut to fit squares
Hardly even see through but inviting nevertheless
To bring forth the underlying adventurer and dare devil
And to seek out what ever mystery there was to uncover
Behind those four individual blocks of tainted glass
Because this game was about to begin and those on board
Would be assured a play of a life time when the chime
Dinged three times and then, there would be no turning back
As stepping through the window made of four blocks of glass
Was a portal to the unknown, to be now known to the those
Daring without scaring venturing into the world beyond
