Fields of summer

Fields of summer

The spring came quite late as it seemed to hesitate, whether to arrive at all, or simply skip it over and move straight to fall. Alas, without warning, the temperatures jumped from practically zero to scorching. Or at least, that is how it felt for the unpractised Northerner, but soon enough, getting used to the tough change from zero to warm was upon and then, getting outside for the summery fun, with games and gardening, waiting to be done. The flowers in full bloom as the greeneries of the waste fields were grown fast and even the trees got their deserved lush cover as the leaves popped out from the tiny nubs, laying dormant for most part of the year. But not today as it was finally good enough to sprout out and give the humans their yearly show of the scenic greens across the fields and all over. Summer had finally arrived and that was worth a huge big smile.

Shadows and seats

“There is always a seat when you need one” Gun Roswell

Shadows and seats

The warm sun shining in the blue skies and I find myself whining to the simple fact of too much heat and direct sunlight in my pale face. Trying very hard but there is simply no escape. But wait! What did I just spot in my peripheral vision but something most likely to be saving my over cooked bacon? A seat over there in the distant, and to be scarce, it’s residing in the only shadowy spot to be seen or found for miles on end. Could I really be that lucky and be the one, whom over there ion a few could run? Or is this simply a terrible joke, a mirage at the expense of my over heated delusional mind? Please please be kind and let me over there my way find and nothing more will I ever ask again. Well, not until the next time when I’m in trouble again, so talk then as now I need to get to my precious seat on the cool shadows and plenty of rest there spend until it’s  time to say, when and get going again.

Cat sleeping on a chair

“The cat sleeps on the chair. Why? Well, he owns it so there!” Gun Roswell

Cat sleeping on a chair

The cat on the chair was snoring loudly, and it was lying there quite proudly. Why you might ask, is the chair occupied by an animal whom should be on the prowling rather than at home snoring?

Well, here is the thing, you see, that cat over there, sleeping, bought the chair in a flee market on the square and now, as he is the owner of the furniture, it’s only natural he should be sleeping on it as well, right?!

So, if you need another place to sit on, then find one or buy one as there is no way you will get the one the cat is sleeping on, even if he was out there doing his prowling thing. It his chair, and that is the end of that discussion in this house hold anyway as the cat always has the last say!

3 am rain

“It’s 3am and I’m supposed to be sleeping” Gun Roswell

3 am rain

The noise got me out of a light slumber and I started to wonder the cause of it. As I got up an looked out my window sills were filled with large balls of hale, the kind which come down with frozen rain. Imagine my surprise, when I tried outside more to spy, but the total darkness blocked the views which anyway were a few. It was supposed to be the month of May, where the nights were short and light but clearly whomever was in charge of the weather forecast had lost the fight.

I watched the pouring rain for a moment longer before it got much stronger. But as sleep was finally catching up with me, I decided not to let a few rainy drops bother me and so, I fell asleep, after all it was three in the early morning and I was getting up in a few hours so what of a few showers, as I needed my beauty sleep before the dawning.

No email today?

“Am I missing out on something very important here?” Gun Roswell

No email today?

The empty box, stating in bold letters “No mail”
No, this can’t be right, do checking once again

“Refresh, refresh, refresh! One more time, refresh!”
Hitting on that circular arrowy button one ore more times more, I confess

But I still get the same defiant message
It’s taunting me to the point of depression

Checking the internet connection, maybe that is the reason
Bringing up the program, watching the speed catching on

A hundred, then two, then more, bringing up the total score
The power, the speed, the search engines, all of it aboveboard

No definitely there is nothing on the side of the World Wide Web wrong
As this invisible connection is definitely very stable and oh so strong

Glaring at the screen, particularly the so called postal box of the internet
Where the electronically delivered communiques usually arrive without get

But it seems, that not for me, not today at least, there will be no sliver
Of any kind of news, any hellos, not one single offer, nothing of sorts, delivered

Am I missing out on something very important?
Am I on the block list for some reason I should not?

The fear strikes then, that of the lack of all that is out there
As the whys nobody anything with me wants to share

Pure torture this is, because I am fearing the worst of sort
That I am no longer liked, as I keep on staring at the blank box

Refresh button forgotten, as I might as well be the misbegotten
Falling into darkness, I fear I have become one of the important less

Almost loosing my mind, the mantra ongoing, “Why oh why?!”
And the the familiar sound of the ding, sounds out from the machine

As I dare to look, I feel the powerful feeling all over and every nook
Of me starts doing a small dance as I am reading, “you have new mail”

Coffee close-up

“There is just something about coffee, the looks and feel of it, it’s just, well, great!” Gun Roswell

Coffee close-up

The freshly poured coffee in the cup, the aroma swirling mid air, and the powerful smells reaching my nose as I needed my dose. This was not fair as there was a note on the side of it, stating in read and bold letters; “Do not touch!”

But it kept in taunting me, why oh why was someone doing this to me!? Why was I not allowed to touch that one thing, which made my hearts sing and wanting to dance and prance and shout out loud about after first sting?

Who on Earth could have done such a terrible deed to this coffee addict of a creep like myself who could never function properly, without my daily fix of the most finest invention of all time. That one and only thing making me smile after a cup or few in the early morning hours?

I stood there, unbelieving for a moment longer than I should. Lingering, hovering over the sweet sweet juice I had been denied and that it when I did decide. No matter what, nobody could stand between me and my coffee. After a quick glance to each direction, I grabbed the cup, took a sip and another and then, I felt like me again.

I waited for someone to turn up with a huff and a puff. Alas, no one did and then I remembered a blurry hazy state I had been in during the night and the warning made much more sense now. It was me, myself who had wandered off in the middle of the night and written those horrible words. As to the why I was still uncertain, but boy, had I been off!

Tossing the note aside, I kept on slurping my reward oh so fine.

Sunshine on a Mundane Day

Look, who decided finally to show up
And for a while there I was starting
To get all upset and wound up!

Then quickly, I am up from the tub
Grabbing a hold of my favourite cup
And then towards the outside,
With a set of a few huffs and puffs
I dare to go
And yeah, none too slow!

Just before, that is,
My all time favourite show
On the television, is up!
As the sun decided to turn up
Way too late of the day
Much to all those waiting
And now complaining!

But hey, it’s Monday
So what did you expect!?

Out of order for now!

Out of order for now!

Dear WordPress friends and readers,

My blog is currently on the fritz and rolled back to 14th of April 2020.

You see, I made a request to change my plan for the site and it was supposed to be a two hour job. However, they found a bug there (and not the several legged crawling kind one either). From where it came from I have no idea as I have not changed anything on my blog for years (admitting guilty for being lazy in that aspect) except the plan by clicking choices to boxes on the ordering page and paying for it (monetary currency so far). But now, it has been over a day since the support request was opened and so far, the site is on hold as they told me not to post anything meanwhile. But I wanted you all to know the situation as I have no idea when this will all be fixed. They have assured me that the posts are safe and I have my own back-ups of course. But all this delay seems such a wasted opportunity to me and not to mention loosing my “Streak” 😉 I can only hope this will be solved ASAP, but working in IT myself I find it odd that the paying customer has to suffer for this and keep asking the important question of “when?” constantly.

Well, this is life and it goes on even with small glitches such as this.
Today I got my first corona shot so I am happy for that at least😀

Meanwhile I will follow your stories and keep writing my own every day even if I cannot post them.

Keep on writing and most of all, keep on blogging no matter what!!!

With Best Regards,
Gun

A seat in the backyard

“Seated on a bench in the backyard, feeling quite smart as I’m not working my ass off on this fine day” Gun Roswell

A seat in the backyard

A relatively warm and lazy day, there ahead of me with much of that promised sunshine on display
Finding that perfectly placed and comfortable seat, but certainly not in any of the busy streets
Rather the best one of them all, right here in my own backyard where I had it just installed
Taking with my favourite book alongside some frizzy and cold drinks to the comfortable nook
I will be perfectly set for at least half of the day, even if the baddest weather would get in my way
You see I have this changing climate all figured out, as I got myself a nice sheltering parasol
To keep the heated sunny rays of the shining sol off me, but also any kind of rainy bouts out
So, on this Sunday, nothing will cause me upset or dismay., as I am as prepared as any old scout
And will take my leisure time without any kind of doubt, maybe even something reading out loud
Guess this will be the best kind of day, where reading is the task instead of over a hot oven to slay
