Beach side you can find the smile

Rhodes, Greece

There is just something about the beach which draws me there, sunshine and sand perhaps“ Gun Roswell

Beach side you can find the smile

The sun is shining and the sand is warm, the skies are clear in the colour of blue, just like the endless waters with the same hues. The day being the picture perfect image from a book filled with holiday memories from the past, those which will long last even if the snaps like the memories might fade a tad, but the good old days will be just that, and no matter whom would dare to countermand, the pictures will always tell the stories, never ever boring, with only the great bits, forgetting the shits and that is how those memories of the short but rewarding holidays should be.

During these days of present, the beach side is the place not just from the memories of past, but also a place to recharge and relax. The similar sandy shores, the blue waters which go beyond the horizon and the rising sun, always warm. If even a day in the picture prefect scenery can be spent, then certainly, a smile my way will be sent, and that is certainly time well spent.

Red telephone boxes in the corner, waiting for your call

London, UK

“Phone home from your mobile when travelling, or if you don’t have one, then use the red telephone box to do so! Mom’s waiting!” Gun Roswell

Red telephone boxes in the corner, waiting for your call

When travelling, whether near or far, usually, the nice thing to do I send out an update to all your family, either text or call, or like the new age dictates, post a social media photo, but whatever else the method might be, somewhere around the corner in a big or small town, you can find, the old school telephone boxes, waiting for someone to make the call. After all, you’ll only need a coin, archaic I know, but then with that one you can call, mum, or anyone else, to let them know, you are there, in the big city, travelling, doing your thing. So, in case you lost the phone you were carrying along all along, or then simply the ability to use the modern tech as a thing placing a call, then do make use of the flying machine of the one odd doctor from television, as in this case it’s painted in red so the vision of it should be pretty clear. Find it, make the call, hey thanks that was pretty tall of you!

Pubs and other types of establishments

London, UK

“The streets are filled with patrons, wanting to take a load off in a some quaint and friendly bar, at last, when travelling?“ Gun Roswell

Pubs and other types of establishments

The time of the year, when travelling becomes the norm, well, at least during the times of before, where the weary travellers would ride, fly or well, walk, long distances to get to the place they had in their dreams sought. And all that work, well, it can easily leave a mere mortal beyond their known powers, meaning tired, thirsty and hungry and then the best answer is to have some rest, take a load of and maybe a bite to eat and a few drinks, so what better place than the nearest hole in the wall, before down on the streets from exhaustion they might fall.

So, why not take up on this good advice and head on to the nearest establishment and get yourself some nourishment, it will not only leave you revitalised and refreshed, but the local tender of the bar or store, will earn their keep and have a better sleep in the process as people from all around the world are in need of their services. But during these new times, it might not be as fine to travel all around, but with moderation, I am sure the balance can be found all around.

In the aftermath of a blizzard

Espoo, Finland

“There is nothing but snow, and more snow, for miles and miles to see, after the blizzard has struck this small city“ Gun Roswell

In the aftermath of a blizzard

The nightly show, from above was great to look at from behind the glass, separating myself and the mess outside, as all the streets and sidewalks, not to mention porches and front doors, were covered in the stuff which kept on pouring down all night long. So, now, it was the early morning hours and daylight was coming out from each and every crack onward, and the idea of getting out there to inspect the possible damage caused by the downpour, well, getting out the door was the first hurdle, before the actual work would begin. Which was picking up that good old shovel and with each huff and puff, pushing my way out from the small house, now completely surrounded by the white not so powdery stuff, as it was pretty heavy due to the sleet and subsequently following rain of the stormy weather and so, after a few hours, a broken back and basically body, the snow was piled on top of a very tall heap, only hoping for it to stay up there, as most likely, if luck would have it, and I am saying it sarcastically, there would be more dramatically inclined weather on the way and most likely, more of the white stuff coming down and that was well worth the frown on my sweaty and tired snow shovelling face.

At the end of the pier there is a lighthouse

Evia, Greece

“There is always a guiding light somewhere around, if you just keep on and look for it“ Gun Roswell

At the end of the pier there is a lighthouse

The light shining ever so brightly, from the tall lighthouse, at the end of the long pier, but do not take it lightly, as this is ever so serious business, as this light, will help all those at sea, trying hard in the darkness to steer, to their familiar home port and to safety, as the mighty waves are getting kind of rough and then there is other stuff to consider too, like those nasty rocks and perhaps all the good ol’ sea monsters lurking around, the light shining brightly now, for those, who cannot find, their common ground.

But it is not simply a light for the sea dwellers, rather those on land, close to the sandy shores, who are doing their daily chores, but the day so long, as night begins to fall, and the darkness descending all over the land and there is really no way of seeing, even where one stands, so, this lights from the house at the end of a long pier, will help everyone who needs something important to be seeing and so, the blessed light, will turn the tide for each and everyone.

Seated in a lobby setting

“No matter the day of the week, the optimal seating is a request never to be objected on, even if it might just be, Monday!“ Gun Roswell

Seated in a lobby setting

The day could easily be a Sunday, but any other day will do as long as there is a comfortable seat near by, well that is all a reason needed for any kind of a wide smile. So, whenever break times beckons, the coffee pot ready for the taking, the seats at the window or wherever is the best spot awaiting, then there is noting else to do except to take a seat, after all, admitting defeat in front of a good kind of respite, is no defeat at all,

After all, a soft bench, a chair or a large size sofa, no matter where, it might lay, a home, a friends house or even the office, the setting most perfect, to take a load off as even the shortest of days, needs a place where to rest, a minuter or few, even an hour if the lure, is strong, and there is nothing really wrong, in wanting to just sit. And if it is a good fit, then why not stay the day, even if it is a working day, as after all, sometimes, we all need to take a load off.

Cat a curious of what’s above

“The cats are always curious about everything around them, it’s a good thing though!“ Gun Roswell

Cat a curious of what’s above

The cat is a sitting, not spitting, rather straining its neck, trying to figure out what is buzzing above its very head. The small insects or the bigger birds might just be the pesky pests, the cat has of heard. So, alert is it now, its big ears upward straight towards the skies. Perhaps it is even something bigger, like chopper or an airplane, or if even luckier, Supergirl or some such thing. But whatever it is, the cat won’t budge as this is something it enjoys so much. Being on the prowl of something big, something like a prey or whatever its fantasy might just tickle. So, before we judge the curious cat, let’s all look up and what the fuss is about at that. Maybe we see nothing or then something which will our own curious nature just peek, or something see, which we have always tended to seek. Whatever it is, let’s be more like this curious cat, who is relentless in its search for something bigger than a hat. Let’s admire the surroundings and the skies above, who knows, maybe something will drop down!

Red and bikes

“There is just something about a red painted bike. Perhaps the colour is a warning for those to step back as the sleek vessel slides across the streets” Gun Roswell

Red and bikes

There are so many to choose from, standing there, in the row, two wheeled rides made for the fun of riding around in the city centre wide. But they are mostly the same, part from a missing wheel or other possible dent, so no matter which one you choose, your few coins you won’t lose.

Motorised is the way to go, when the feet are taking it too slow, to peddle around in a the crowds, as the uphills might be a battle and well, even if the sweating would not really matter, it’s better to ride with an electronic device if your own too feet won’t want to carry its kind.

So, it might be discarded, then again not, as maybe this place is simply the parking slot for this small bike in red, as the owner had to go to bed? But, if you are daring to lend it for a short ride, please leave a note or something, to remind the keeper of the bike, it will be returned, just where it was found, right there on the ground.

Peekaboo, I see you all

“Through the cracks and nooks and crannies, I observe these so called humans doing their thing” Gun Roswell

Peekaboo, I see you all

Always watching, always looking, forever observing, sometimes even learning, of the things they do, wrong or right, it does not matter, as there is more in the fight to be taught, than watching the simple life passing slowly by. And when the struggle is real, so are the things they all feel, hear and see, and after the battles are over, maybe some of them are stronger for it. But I cannot know that,  as I can only see what is going on, and from that, I can make a few educated guesses, of what the lessons here taught for me, could be. And with that knowledge stored in my memory banks I continue on my on going tasks, the arduous job of never ending as being the watcher all my time spending, and reporting all of it back, to the others still in their learning curve of all things in the universe. Because despite my position of being am observer of life, I am also a teacher of some kind, and hopefully all that which I am, will be used with total care and mistakes for the next ones to spare.

Old school still working though

“It might be old and busted, even rusted, but it still works just fine, so no need to throw away, am I right?” Gun Roswell

Old school still working though

The old and refurbished whatever it was in the past life, a four wheel drive nevertheless and to confess, some of its parts were cannibalised even from the bikes, not the motorised though, rather the peddling kind, but hey, as long as they all work together in somewhat of a harmony, it all just fine, as this new kind of a transport vessel has now been given new life, from those parts of the ones which came before it.

So, before you judge, this vessel by its cover, or rather the lack there of as it is kind of a hover of a roof on top and nothing much else, but when the heat of summer arrives, this kind of ride will do simply fine, as the air conditioning will always be there, especially when driving, well, somewhat faster than your average kind of a bike. So hop on, enjoy the old school feel of it and perhaps, you too can support this kind of self building, as it is, nature saving in the end.
