“Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week”
Joseph Addison
Sunday before X-mas
In a comfortable winter’s sled
A holiday heart, glowing in red
Cheer and joy, for a while it will spread
No one knows, what here it lead
Or where it will next head
So each night, before you go to bed
Whisper a wish to keep it fed

I always like Joseph Addison’s The Campaign. The line, “Inflamed by reason, and by reason cooled.” You picked the perfect picture to accompany your poem. I’ll be sure to wish my heart be kept fed!
