The boats in the harbour

“There are plenty of boats out there, to take to the sea” Gun Roswell

The boats in the harbour

When a nice day gets in your way, there is certainly no reason in the bed to stay, rather getting up really early, with the wormy birdy, and then head out in to the harbour and spend the day at the sea. As the clearness of the weather, without a stormy cloud in sight, just might make the perfect of days, during these last days of season, before the snowy times arrive. The boats are plenty, like heavens sent, small, large, even a barge, picking one might seem a chore, but rest assure, whichever it will be, with a small size fee, you can rent it for the day and then hit those calming waves. Rowing or sailing, all that which was ailing to old bod, will be there no more, at least, not for the duration, as this is all the life needed for at least today. All them troubles of work and other kind of life soon to fade as the fluffy clouds will shade from too much sun as this will be a day of fun, one more time, feeling almost like summer, inside the small dingy of a boat, which was borrowed form the harbour for this one special day to sail around the large watery mote.

Setting sail old school style

Finland

“Setting sail from a place where land meets the sea, well of course, why would you want to paddle on dry land?” Gun Roswell

Setting sail old school style

The land lush and green but the outlook of the eternal blue seas is simply too strong to resist and so, choosing a vessel to set sail out there in this sphere also coloured mostly in blue and as the hues are so totally inviting, there really is no way in fighting the urge to get on the waters and sail all across the world.

So, why not select a ship which is made in the ways of the olden worlds, the creaky wooden decks and the somewhat faded sails, all the hard labour before going anywhere else, it all make sense when becoming nostalgic and then boarding on the yesteryear made vessel, as there will be a lot of hassle, just getting out of the harbour.

But the payoff is as good as all the work put into getting the ship out there and when reaching the perfect winds, the ride as smooth as sin, enjoying the time oh so very fine on the blue waters sailing away, until finding whatever was sought there in the first places, maybe it was simple peace or maybe, a good kind of adventure.

Tracks on the surface of the icy lake to follow

“There are so many tracks out there, on the surface and everywhere, that someone, without a compass will most certainly get totally lost!“ Gun Roswell

Tracks on the surface of the icy lake to follow

There are plenty of tracks on the icy snow of the covered lake in winter, some of them can be easily followed while others are buried deeper under the overlapping freshly made ones, but as there is no need to wallow in making the decision as it is as easy as precision, as from the chaos becomes order, if you only concentrate on the one set to make your own way, and once that choice is made, the path ahead, will be led to wherever you need to go.

So, when the selected tracks are in view, and the excitement is pretty new, wanting to simply run as fast as possible, never minding the obstacles, but before you do, just take a few moments to consider that the goal is not fading away and there is a lot of time to slay, and then, with a few steps move along, taking it slow, enjoying the ride while on the track side, as for now, the hurry will only cause worry, and after all, the steps small, will eventually save time.

Blue in the Winter

“There is always time for some blues in the midst of a crispy white winter” Gun Roswell

Blue in the Winter

Snowy and icy, sometimes even spicy, the winter scene before me, with all the monochromic colours of white and grey, but not today, as today, I am feeling the blues, especially, when the moment arises just before the darkness is upon. No matter whether it is the songs I am singing or the colour descending upon the land, it is a true blue hue of the moment, which captures the heart of the winter, not the calm and cold and crispy whites, which are the dominant ones for most of the winters time. And so today, celebrating this calming phenomena right there out on display over the sea and land, the magnificence of this state more than any one single person can stand, the totally painted skyline in blue, as is the colour of the snow and the trees, right there visible for anyone wanting to see, the blues in the winter, have arrived once again. And so, here is sit, a small being in the middle of nowhere much, admiring the view as such, taking it all in and start to sing my very own kind of blues.

A day at the Beach

“Nothing better, like a day at the beach, laying lazily, on a padded seat“ Gun Roswell

A day at the Beach

Sunny days, really are the best days, forget all them days rest
As this is the one day, you can do what ever you may
Without too much of a thought, when acting like a sloth
Trying not too much to worry, about the next day, being sorry
That during, nothing got done and only having some needed fun
But hey, do not worry, as what is, but one single day off
And then, letting your hair hang loose, and not needing to choose
Whether a loose pair of the flip flops, are ´totally a proper pair
Of some kind of everywhere kind of accepted footwear
So, be, that one and total fool, and go and play it really cool
And head out to the that one special place, where there is no doubt
You can just be, the one being, without actually been seen
As a total jackass, for not always, working off their own ass
Relax, enjoy, your worries off deploy and take a load off
For today is that one day of a sunny day, and don’t need to show off

Hazy Waves

“The sea seems a tad hazy today, must be another weather front approaching, perhaps a sunny day or even some warm weather coming our way? Anyway, I am feeling lazy, so as long as there is no storm or snow on the way, I am fine“ Gun Roswell

Hazy Waves

The sea on the side of the beach, seemingly hazy, some might even say, the water looked lazy, as the gentle waves lulled the boats on the shore, not even one fisher person in sight, perhaps as it was too bright, even if the sun was shining from behind the fuzzy clouds up there in the air, it was simply a day hazy and oh so fair.

So, for the landlubber who had sworn never to set one foot on the sandy beach, just to save their tender feet from the pebbles laying beneath, well, today they too, had to eat their words as on this beckoning and lazy day, with the soft shroud hovering there all over the place, the landlubber too, made the decision and then quickly like a soft flying hen, made their way to the sandy shore, where most people now did not feel it too much of a bore, laying about like seals of the high seas, letting the waves wash over them, rather hazily.

Early morning office hours

“The sun only now rising, even if I have been working for several hours” Gun Roswell

Early morning office hours

It was still very dark, when I first arrived to the setting where office type of working is usually done, and not really the kind of fun, rather something where the laughter is reduced to stun. And the darkness outside, even when seated at the window quite large, does not do too much, as there is nothing to see, not even the bluest of calming seas.

But, luckily, after several hours of arduous labour, there is a somewhat of a nice surprise behind the glass, as the sun has decided to pay a visit, and the rise of it is once again something quite exquisite, leaving the onlooker in a warm fuzzy feeling, the rays lightening the mood, from brooding to smiling widely, and that is a thing not happening very lightly.

So, after several moments of practically bathing in the shining sun, the working day does not seem so totally glum anymore and all the many boring chores, are getting done, while singing a chorus, or at least in the minds of the worker, as they gingerly go on with all their daily duties.

By the seashore, see more, stay away from bore

“There is something to be said about the calming waves of the shores of the blue seas, it’s just that, well, they do speak to me” Gun Roswell

By the seashore, see more, stay away from bore

The bluish hues of the waters glimmering in the morning sunshine simply beckoning to get out there to have some fun. Splashing around in the calming waves, whether alone or with some close friends. The effect of this liquid form can be quite an uplifting lore, as forgetting all the daily chores, at least for this day, when sun and water come up to the sandy shores together, for a play. Preparing the perfect setup for anyone there to stay, as long as they had found the way there.

So, if you have some time, try spending the whole day right beside those bubbly waves, dipping and diving into the cool blues, which sometimes even turn to turquoise hues, slowly but surely blending into the skies as the horizon slowly fades, making the scene look like and endless palette of bright light, coloured in blue. And certainly something good for the body and soul, to perhaps make it whole or at least give it a patch to carry on until the next time.

Row, row, row your motorboat

“Nothing more frustrating than trying to row a motorised seaworthy vessel, a lot of resistance and even more hassle“ Gun Roswell

Row, row, row your motorboat

The weather grey and dull, feelings of soggy and null, but the one great thing about a grey day like this, something I would not want miss, for anything in the world, is to set a sea, towards the harsh waves to be hurled as it is totally unheard of, to go out to the waters edge, in bad weather rather best option is simply to stay in the comfort of your bed. But the road so far here to this pier has led, is telling me to go out there and have a totally fun filled day, out there without fail.

But, after riding along, the currents quite strong, the rains pounding over the bow, and somehow, the humidity getting inside of the engines normally fine. Soon enough sputter and coughing the only sounds heard, until the whole setup was done for it and totally died. So, the only option, as this dingy of a concoction, did not have any sails, was simply to cast the ores over the rails and then, gently row, row, row my way back home, and singing along, to that old song, the tune of the ditty, pretty and familiar as riding the calming waves back to shore.

Grey on the waters

“There is always so much darkness before the lights are turned on, am I right?” Gun Roswell

Grey on the waters

It is the seasonal darkness, which comes around with so much grey in it, just, when you look outside, there is no doubt of the day on the yearly calendar, the fear soon arising as well, and easily will put the mood in so much dismay, as it then becomes like a huge dragon to slay. As this happens, and you are feeling totally crappie, do not fall into the great big hole, and remain there like a mole, but venture out there, the nature more aware of the goings on of the season, because it is no elaborate plot or a treason, just a change. And maybe when, standing at the waters edge, look for any and all reflections there, of the happier times, which made you smile, then dare, borrowing a small boat and take her out there, to the beckoning waters, no matter how full and grey, because today, you will that fearful dragon slay, and ride happily into the non existing sunset. As now you have turned the darkness into plentiful colours of beautiful bright light. And it wasn’t even that big of a fight!
