Poetry and Photography

“Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance” Carl Sandburg
Leaves of October
The leaves of colour
Soon but shadows
Slowly fading away
In the October rain
Autumn leaves
Falling down
From the trees
On to the ground
The winds are soon
But a silent whisper
As the leaves bloom
Out of existence

I like the way your first photo (and the second, too, being the same), lead us forward. Yet the darker front contrasting with the light at the end, echoes the feeling I get from your poem of a sadness, a light (summer) leading towards that dark (of winter.)

It is so sad, but I have enjoyed the long warm Autumn so far, now it’s getting colder and darker before the snow falls.
